One thing I was thinking about... the money tree is supposed to be the place for the poorer neopians to go to get stuff that people put there....

However, that's not what the money tree is. Its for people with fast computers, and lots of the people who are Newbies or dont have neopoints cant even grasp an item from the money tree. Ive even tried.... without looking at what I am getting. I would go to the money tree, have my cursor pre-set at where an item would show up on the screen. I'd hit refresh *and yes, i have a fast computer* and as soon as an item shows up, I click. And yet, i STILL miss it!

And lately, I've heard of lots of people donating there np to the money tree for quitting, or just being nice. Groups have also formed do donate nps in bulk. Although it is definetely a nice thing to do, i wouldnt recommend it, as all that stuff goes to the people who are really out to get that stuff, and with mega fast computers!

I say, if you would really like to donate to the poor, go to the neoboards. Look for people on the Newbie Boards, or the help boards.... and look for people who are being nice. Reward the kind people out there who really need help *check there lookup... and if theyre pets are red chias and a kougra, and there shop is filled with tombola items, maybe they could use some help! Then you could neomail the person you are donating too as well, so you can actually say something to the person you are giving things to....

Now, im not saying the neoboards are the only way... there may be even better places to find needy people, but my point is that if you really want to help the poor, dont do it at the Money Tree.... use another place where you know where the neopoints are going... like the neoboards!

Just for clearing up something, im not saying to have giveaways ON the neoboards. Im saying, look for somebody whos being helpful on the help board, or just look for some nice caring person on neopets who looks like they dont have many neopoints....

THEN.... you dont have have to post on their board or even mention anything on the neoboards... you can simply neomail them saying youd like to donate some of your nps if they would accept it.... or send them a nice item or something...

it's easy to get frozen for giving away stuff on the neoboards though - infact, it's way too easy to get frozen being on the neoboards full-stop. maybe we could set up somekind of ppt money tree somehow? I don't know.. justa thought..

I feel the same way about the money tree Weezel, but its the only legite and easy way to donate, and the more you donate the more random events you get, and I really want DFM and Black Pteri.

wait so donating really does get you more random events? i didn't know that.. is it donating money or items? lol occasionally i fi see people doing giveaways i give something to them but i'm not on neoboards enough

Due to past experiences, I don't read any sections of the Chat Boards other than Shop Ads and Help, and I rarely post in Help. The flagging system is flawed and the board monitors are either lazy or morons. (Or lazy morons)

I occasionally help people through the Trading Post; if someone is asking for food and their shop is below size 4 and either bare or has absolute junk stocked, then I figure its likely not a scam. (I never give medicine, though, because the Healing Springs are free and only require patience)



Yep. I donate to the Money Tree fairly often, and it seems I find codestones and get Faerie Quests (mostly Air or Water) more often than when I don't.

I used to get Spooky Map Pieces a LOT, but I haven't found one in months.

Did figure out one thing, though; It seems to work better if you donate the items individually, instead of using the Quick Stock option.

(Haven't been handed a Paint Brush since I was New Member, though....)

it would be better if you could only use the money tree if you had under a certain amount of money, so that only the truly needy get to use it. Someone should suggest that to the editorial of the NT.

not true... donating doesnt afftect your random event chances. I used to donate to the money tree daily.... more then that, and I rarely get random events... quite rarely.

I thought you couldn't, except when they have special drops?

Doesn't really matter, though; You'd just have weasels (sorry, WW ) who would go use an alternate account with little in it grab the items, anyway.

I could make a PPT money tree, but it would be extremely hard to code.

The thing about the money tree, and the garage sale, is that there are grabber programs that do the work for you. The folks in NPS haven't really bothered to do much about it, preferring instead to work on tightening shop and game security.

I donate to friends and helpfull people on boards when I have anything to donate. Also to people who are collecting something. Because I know how nice it was when people donated asparagus and pumpkins to me and apples to me and Stephen for gallerys.

Donating on the money tree never increased my getting quests and such. I think it's just chance. I think generally going round the site playing games and shopping increases my RE chances to be honest. Since I get rather a lot whilst going round visiting my friends neopets and going in shops.

I usually donate to the tree some tombola items I don't want, or an omelette now and then. NP, when I give, I give to the max of 20NP. enough to buy some food or cheap toy if you really need it.

Larger donations, I give to my guild. There I know the food, toys, books will be given to people who will put it in good use and really need the features.

Plus, it's easier than browsing the boards to find someone in real need.

That really is a good idea, lots pf people who have money, and just want free stuff go there... It's better to look for good hearted poeple on the boards, and give them stuff, and you know that the item will come to use.

the money tree is a joke for me and my friends. we donate 1np and then try to get it back. i did it once. i prefer the trash dump in meridell. it's random and therefore better
