Today... tonight... 10 minutes ago, my best friend from school, my best online friend, my old guild leader and many other accounts related to me were just frozen. But why?

They say we were frozen for scamming people. Maybe we did look suspicous, after all, koldsorcery (my school friend) and I went to eahcothers houses alot. But that doesn't explain why all my other friends were frozen. Some of which I hadn't talked to in ages...

These accounts were frozen all at the same time, all of the same reason:

selfisheye: My old guild leader, who I don't like after... something she said to me
crysmoke: A new friend to me
nakrait_wraith: Koldsorcery's second account.

At first kold and I thought that I was IP frozen, because kolds been to my house and used by computer, maybe he logged into selfisheye's and crysmokes account? But it wasn't me who was IP frozen, but second account is still alive.

Maybe Kold was IP frozen? No... faegirl_16 never logged into his computer.

I won't rejoin neopets... I had 128 avatars, that was the main thing I did on neopets, collecting them. Avatars unfortuneatly cannot be replaced. I have no idea what happened, and I don't think I can get my account frozen. What's worse then getting frozen, all your friends getting frozen aswell

I'll still be here on ppt. Maybe it was a mistake? I don't know what to think. I'm pretty much just writing this so I can get things clear. I've lost so much, and so have my friend

What should I do? Has thing ever happened to anyone else? I've never been involved in a mass freezing, of course, my account has been unfairly iced, but I got over that. This is harder... I am planning to write some emails to some support staff, does anyone know what things I should write?

Maybe ask--calmly-- why you were frozen, and if you can get your account unfrozen. Say you don't know why you were frozen.

But whatever you do, don't get mad at the TNT. That's a surefire way to keep your account frozen, forever.

well, I personally think that you have a pretty good chance of getting your account back. I say snail mail them (the adress is on the help board somewhere) and calmly explain to them the situation. Say why it might look like you were doing something wrong. Explain everything to them. I think that if you don't get mad at them and don't insult them, they SHOULD give you your account back but they might not. I don't know why but I feel like you will get your account back. A quick way to get the snail mail address is just to go to http://www.whois.sc/neopets.com

However, first attempt to contact them by the standard method - contact forms.

You will receive an autoresponse from someone in a couple of days, and then begin mailing that person directly. Try three or four emails, and remember to above all other things stay calm.

If that does not work, send a snail mail to Support at the address you pull off of whois.sc.

Good luck. I've been emailing a support staff member. Hopefully they will help me too.

The sites gone absolutely crazy... Maybe it is time to leave?

Like rats from a sinking ship. Yes, the quality of the Neopets site has slipped a lot in the last few months, and this is yet another thing to show it.
If you feel that betrayed by what was once a friendly site, then yes, it's time to leave. If you are stuborn, fed up, yes, it is time to leave. If you feel you want to see if you can change the site for the better.. time to leave, because that's now wishful thinking. Yes, bitterness is back.

I was frozen yesterday I had 121 avatars. A lot of avatar list people have been dropping recently, I wonder if that's anything to do with it..

I'm terribly sorry to hear you were frozen... I think they need to get rid of their way of punishing people because they freeze too many innocent people. I'd say after you email them and stuff, snail mail them. I just did yesterday asking for my 2 frozen accounts back... the one froze a month ago and the one frozen last winter. Good luck getting your account back, because, honestly, you'll need it.

Yukitora, I don't even know what to say! I'm trying to think after reading your post. You didn't get along with your old guild leader...do you think that could possibly have anything to do with it? Like you 2 argued so that person got others to mass report you and your other friends for scamming? We know they don't really investigate reports, especialy when alot of people report the same person. Did your guild have any kind of avatar item tp lend/borrow system? And if so, did anyone (especially new) to the guild request something and get turned down? (same mass report/revenge scenerio).

Or you all could be close to a bad IP number and got "caught" in an IP ban.

However this happened, you should write in, fight this, even if it's just on principle - you and your friends.

People are getting frozen for typing ebay, and for just about anything. We know they need rules, but I'm almost thinking there's another rogue monitor on the site (it's happened before).

This whole you're guilty until proven innocent mentality on the site has got to change. So does the report this message on the boards - too many people clicking that link over nothing. There's so much that's just not right or fair on the site anymore.

I remember when I really looked forward to spending (alot!) of time on the site, going to the boards, helping people, having fun with the people I'd met and talked to frequently, sending little gifts to one another (not a gift war, just a way to say Hi, thanks, hope you're feeling better, etc.), our little nf auctions where someone would auction their "heart" - the heart shaped pendant and whoever won the auction would "own" that person's heart...we don't do anything like that anymore. Same with HD/nf 1 np trades as a way of just having some fun and sharing with our friends. I barely even talk to the people on my nf list anymore -- we're all too paranoid even in neomail to actually try to "talk".

I've been staying because of my guild, my pets, and my best rl friend who plays...I'm also staying just to see what happens next. It's becoming like watching a car wreck though.

every time when i read about incidents like this, it makes me jumpy about freezings and whether those support staff exercise " the benefit of the doubt"

whenever i want to give anyone a gift, i had better not:

give a HT item i just towered in case i land my friend and i into trouble for conspiring to buy 2 HT item in a day

give it directly to the person but at least conduct a symbolic trade for fear i might be frozen for giving item to a "scammer" if my friend got frozen.

in view of the above reasons, if i have any reason to give anything, it would only be to the money tree or send the gift through a side account.

I am so sorry to hear this, I can remember we were having the same flash game distortion problem yesterday.

I would say send a snail mail. I am a bit suspicious why avatar collectors are being frozen, I got someone within the #17 range that I became neofriends with, then next time I checked, she is frozen.

i dont know when my first account was frozen i didn't notice it till i saw it on my friends list that it was when i tried to log in it said that i either was scammed or used a fake log-in page but i know when i was on that account i never left the neopets site at all and always made sure to log out when i was done no one knew my pw at all i changed it monthly just so that something like this wouldn't happen to me i filled out the form and i know i've followed the rules on that account and i've been on neo for over 2yrs on that account and then to have this happen just makes me upset that ppl who do follow the rules and dont scam are not rude on the boards and just want to play and have fun have their accounts frozen I'm sure there are many scammers out there that need to be frozen and that the good ppl need to be left alone. I mean it's only a game site but to some ppl seems like it's there only life but hey i think that by being nice to the tnt and emailing once a week just to remind them wont hurt either but still doing it in a nice way they'll either get sick of me and unfreze it or get real sick of me and wont lol ce la vie either way

they added a bit of rules regarding avatas over the last few days, they added that u have to earn all the avatar yourself and that u cannot log intoother peoples accounts to get them an avatar.Maybe thats the reason.

I'm sorry, but neopets is really going down the pan with all this.

Mass glitches, I would allow minor glitches if we were notified about them, but we're having so many glitches it's a wonder alot of us are still there.

I really am worrying about all the ice around December. Loads of people are frozen just for giving christmas gifts. I am planning to give a painted Gruslen to my online best bud, who helped me get the lab ray, but am afraid of getting frozen, and worst of all, my best bud getting frozen.
