Someone from support mailed me back telling me my warning about "off-site urls" was me saying to my friend:

"No, you don't need a credit card to use ebay."

Now if I'd have known that would get me a warning. I'd have only talked about pets on neomail.
It's frustrating since some girls were talking about mens "size" on the boards yesterday and everyday and I don't ever see them frozen. Some have been on for over 6 months doing it.

Then I got frozen yesterday. The reason said "Continuing to break rules after warning was issued"

So I may or may not have been iced for saying "ebay". Since I think I said Something along the lines of "I'm off, Ebay time!" to end my posting last night. Not sure though.

Nice site neopets. Nice site... X_X

Where do I sign up for the hate club :D j/k

Hmmmm.. that's particularly irritating because despite them not liking people mentioning Ebay, their stock of the day on the neopets portal the other day was none other than.. you guessed it.. ebay's :/

I think they are going mad. If I'm getting frozen for that then I'm keeping all my accounts private and clearing neofriends. I can talk to them all off site anyway. I'm going to make us a phbb on my site. Since that way I don't have to think about every singel word I type!

I might still quit though. Hopefuly the nice lady who mailed me will help. She has helped me with several things in the past. Including telling me that me and Stephen can enter our gallery as a joint. Which is nice.

Yup, they posted the link right on the plushies page....

I think a while ago someone else said that they also got a warning for saying ebay on the guild boards.

Rules going a little overboard I think with that one. Since they promote ebay themselves and saying it isn't giving out the site url. We have annoying pop-ups for that :D

Wow! thanks for the tip. Now and then I post some tips on those "rate my shop" threads and one thing that I say is "I think most people prefer shops with less backgrounds, music an animation. See the virtual shops like Amazon, their page is quite simple.

Another thing to avoid on boards.

... on the other hand, I guess is better to avoid the boards, period.

I completely agree with you on that. I don't really post on the boards. I just used to be on EMS a lot a long time ago. Use to roleplay vampire and werewolf. Before it became some cult/religion. Nowadays they ask me if I'm a real one O_o

But I also just wanted to see if any of my friends were online. An thats what I get. They were so happy to see me too. Then I'm gone.

Definately warn people. I asked that staff could it be put on the rules if it's freeze/warnable. Since it's unfair when someone is just passingly discussing it.
I know we can't talk of real world "issues" but if they mean telling someone you don't need a credit card on ebay then they might aswell delete the chats. Or make a dropdown so you can only make questions like the king skarl joke :D

Then no-one would chat.
I've joined gaia online now anyway. I'll chat on there.

I hate to be a jerk about it, but perhaps it's best to just stay as private and low-key as you can on Neopets. Really, I think the Neopets Monitors are basically a bunch of power-hungry jerks who would rather issue freeze recommendations than actually think things through.

If that's the case, that you were frozen for mentioning ebay, you might care to send a snail mail letter to the neopets offices now, rather than wait. They should know that their monitors are forbidding mention of a former business partner for no reason other than to be anal rententive.

Just never ever go on Neopets chat boards. The monitors are way overly-sensitive and many there are report happy. Gaia's much more leniant. Chat there. xP

A bit off topic: Do you remember anyone named im_neosailorjupiter on EMS a long long time ago? That was me. xD

I vaugly remember you actually :D. I used to use my timbod account sometimes. Then before it got wiped I used the virtualmetal one. Back when no body would dare post a blood bar!

I agree about not bothering with the chats. I know most of my mates are on gaia. So I'll get their names on there and send them a link to my board for them when I make it. Then we can only neomail to get each others attention or something. Since if I ever do get my account back I'm not risking it again. Even though it's not worth that much really, I love it :(

Yeah, you can get iced/warned for the strangest things....

I once got warned for having a contest on the NeoBoards. I posted something like "whoever posts here and has the best siggy gets a free Krawk Goodie Bag!" Then it got deleted because they said I was scamming... I had to give the Krawk Goodie bag to some random guy...

Just got here and saw this topic. :x

Virtual I am the person who got all their guild messages deleted and a warning for typing ebay -- in response to another member's suggestion that I look there for a Mcdonald's plushie I was trying to get. That person? no warning, nothing. Go figure, since her post was right under mine.

This happened on the day they made the announcement of the 2 auctions ON ebay.

And their portal shows ebay stock? I know, it's very much a do as I say, not as I do situation, but this is inane. Oh ebay is such a scary place! PNG there's cg there! :o ... yeah, uh huh. That's why they did a auction there and why they show ebay stock. But don't type that word anywhere!

I tell you, I'm to the point of barely posting even on my guild board, and I am very careful. I don't use certain words or phrases, I cringe when I see one of my guildmates post something about it being a hot day, and no, I won't try to correct them - I just know I'd be the one to get hit.
