Closing up the building... Isn't as bad as it sounds. The doors leak, many of the the skylights are vented. The production floor and storage areas are wide open. Roof/ceiling is around 23 feet up and nearly 100 thousand square feet of wide open We need to open the giant roll-up doors for forklifts to get in and out dozens of times per day. The air is never stale. We also bring in a company to use a fancy dancy electrostatic sprayer with disinfectant on a frequent regular basis.

I just meant that the competing needs of overturning the indoor air dirty with COVID-19 and not introducing pollutants from the dirty outside air is complicated. Companies are already spending more for increased air turnover, which probably requires more maintenance on filters... And the smoke pollution is probably running through filters even more quickly.

Yeah, we are changing filters a lot more often and we have the air quality app on our phones. If the air quality is good enough with the particulate count below a certain level, we open the large doors to get "fresh" air moving around and close them when the particulate count gets too high. Fortunately, the nights are generally a lot better, so we can get cool, fresh air overnight (we run 24/7).

I finally bought myself some KN95 masks so I can get out to do some yard work at home. My lungs are not at all happy with the smoke and just a "surgical" mask. I would not be surprised if my lungs are semi-compromised from having severe asthmatic bronchitis a couple of years ago. No sense in aggravating things.

Yes, take care of yourself, Blue! Don't mess with lung damage. Especially with the ever-present risk of COVID-19. I have a few N95 masks (5, at this point). That's all I've been wearing. (I only have to wear them at work 2 days a week, and then to appointments/shopping, which I of course minimize. Oh, and protests, of course. Haven't been to one in a while, though. I've been doing other things.) They definitely wouldn't pass a fit test, but they work. I just rotate through them and hang them, using time to decontaminate them.

I need to order washable masks, but analysis paralysis... I hate buying stuff!

Glad to hear that you're wearing a "better-than" mask! I am hanging out my non-work "surgical" masks as well between store visits, which are maybe a couple on the weekend. I finally got my hair professionally cut about a week ago after 6 months of DIY (and it really looking increasing awful each week). After 6 months of growth and occasional self-cuts, I did not go as short as usual. Probably will next time, though. I doubt it will be another 6 months!

I bought only 1 washable mask and the earloops were so tight, they folded my ears down. No good. Sticking with the disposables for now.

Mr. P made us custom-fit washable masks that are extremely comfortable. Middle little P has grown a lot (her face is finally starting to lengthen and lose the baby round look) and now she needs new masks. Oops!

Weird. I posted yesterday but it didn't actually go through for some reason. I think it was 18.5k and 19k.

Sad thing is, I have a really nice wall calendar on the wall next to my desk. I just need to glance up and see the date. If I squint a little, I can see every date for last month, this month and the next 10 months...
