No. Please no. I have so much work backlogged there is little chance I will get it all done in time. So much work. I lost ~4 hours today due to an unexpected event in the plant. (Nobody got hurt, but a machine burrrroke! We managed to get it back up and going after a challenging disassembly, welding of the broken piece and re-assembly. But, ugh.). I have a work acquaintance that has always said that Monday is his favorite day because he has a solid 5 days to get his work done I am soooo feeling that this week.

Overtired kids are a genuine treat... Not. Especially when the are beyond over-tired that they cannot sleep and are super crabby.

Sigh. One of mine is done with school for the week. One is having a meltdown because I told her she actually had to show her work for math instead of doing it in her head. The third is just so tired and draggy that he's not able to concentrate. And hungry, apparently. I have survived my week and feel good about it. Tired, but good. I completed the top prioritized items that were the "must do" items. Biggest one was completed late last night, (and I did a fine job of it as well, I might add). It was submitted this afternoon after boss review to those who need it. I also did "enough" on the 2nd priority project to have a great meeting with the VP, and he was happy. I also got a bunch of "little, but important stuff" out of the way as well. Despite being a very long week, I feel kinda good about it. yay.

She comes by it honestly, on both sides. Both of us got in trouble for not showing our work, too.
Also, apparently, according to the home videos I watched last night, my oldest got his "I'm totally bored" face from me. Yep. Watched it on my own face for most of the school play we watched last night. I was MUCH more interested in showing my parents and sister around my classroom after the play. Fun times watching my entire grade level, though, and seeing how many kids picked their noses during the play.

I spent today making up for the lack of energy in the past few days. We got a LOT of work done around the house today. Surprisingly enough, the kids actually helped without complaining and then played games nicely together after they were done with their chores. I'm still wondering at that, since they were nightmares most of the week.

Day 12: 19k

Phew. Glad we're all making it through. I had time to read but not reply. The 90+ hour week has actually been more like a 110+ hour week because the pet sitting has been more complicated (the bunny is sick and needs syringes of medicine and pumpkin, and there's been a lot of worrying and back-and-forth with the owner about his condition). I did not really get to work on my new full-time job at all since Wednesday, so that's the focus today, but I can do that mostly from home.

Scalawag has been very lonely, especially since my housemate and her dog are not staying here, too. After letting the pet-sitting dog out last night, I realized I could sleep in my own bed for once and just drive over to let her out in the morning, and Scalawag was very happy to have me. Which she let me know by waking me up by doing all the things she's not allowed, like climbing on the top shelf and knocking things down, slamming the bathroom cabinet door, rattling her water bowl in the sink so I have to get up and make sure it's in the sink so she doesn't dump it in the litter box, chewing my phone charging cable, and a new one: opening the medicine cabinet door and knocking stuff out of there - which is worrying because that's usually where my xylitol-containing toothpaste is kept.

She just "turned" three (our best guess, anyway), and it really is like living with a toddler - except one who's a ninja who doesn't sleep. I have to remind myself that many of her habits, such as knocking over glasses to lap up what was inside, were survival strategies she developed on the streets that enabled her to live long enough to bless me with her craziness.

I was given a cat water fountain but have been scared she'll splash it. Today might be a good day to try it out and see if she will drink from it and not try to spill it. (She tried to drink from the faucet last night, but then ended up crawling completely under it. She's a water cat, and when her water bowl was in the tub, she'd spill it to roll around in it. Which left her without water until I came home, and there was no way to know how soon after I left she was spilling it.)
