Is it possible to safely give away a side account?

The account has no np or items in it. I have never earned nps on this account, or made any kind of transaction. I haven't even logged in for six months straight. But the account has a very well-named lutari and a fairly good real-word username, so I feel a little bad just throwing it away when someone else might be able to enjoy it.

I am under the impression that TNT absolutely forbids giving away accounts. Nonetheless, I thought I should ask in case anyone here knows differently.

Thanks for your advice.

I'm sure you could and TNT would never notice. I mean, the only way they could tell is by IP address. But they incourage us to log on at different places (that have different IP addresses), so I don't think it could hurt.

I wouldn't even if there was a chance they wouldn't notice... it is one of the major things they stress (T&C and throughout the editorial countless times) under any circumstance.

It's absolutely against the rules, and I don't recommend it. Your main account could wind up getting frozen if you're caught.

It is strictly against the rules. It seems unfair sometimes, but TNT has a perfectly logical reason for it. Although you may never give an account away then later want it back, who's to say that other people would do just that. Ownership disputes could be severely time consuming and legally flusterating. This rule simplifies the decision in the harshest manner.

I don't think I'll do it, then. Too much risk, and I've invested a lot of time into my (main) account.

Thanks for the advice, guys! ^_^

If you don't want it you could self-freeze it then. This way the username can be put back into the pool. Of course that means your lutari will be gone but too so it's all up to you.

Putting the username pack into the pool doesn't quite work that way. You can delete your account, but it could take a long dang time for TNT to really delete it.

Yeah I know it doesn't work that way exactly... Last time tnt did a big deleting of accounts they picked ones that hadn't been logged into for 3 years right? So on that idea if tnt did a massive wipe at the end of this year Zombie's side would still be considered active so they'd skip over it. At least if he self-freezes tnt will know without a doubt to remove it from the pool of taken names. So maybe it won't show up tomorrow but seeing it in a year or two is better than four or five years. ;)

So I say that if he's absolutely sure he doesn't want the account or pet he should still self-freeze.

The NEVER purge an account name if you delete it. They only purged ABANDONED ones, as in those that hadn't been logged into in years. Deleting is like closing your neo life, they don't let your name be recycled.

Best way is to leave it untouched, then it will eventually get purged.
