Im using a staff of rightous fury and ring of the lost with beserk and strength boost 125

when i was a bori for species i did roughly 120 damage or so, but lab ray changed me to kacheek and im doing roughly 88 damage max, it's not the opponents stance because theyve used a bunch of different ones and i still only get 88 max, from them using beserk to defend.

Does the species you are affect damage?

oh and does it affect defence because i seem to be getting hit a lot harder then i did with a bori :/

It may have to do with a species resistance/weakness to certain elements.

No, your species does not affect how much damage you can deal. Staff of Righteous Fury is a variable icon weapon, though (7.5-12 icons), so maybe you're just not getting as many full hits lately.

As for damage, some species have resistances to certain icon types (for example, pteri has a 40% air resistance, and check out the kau!) and some have weaknesses (jubjub has a 20% weakness to fire), but bori and kacheek both have neither.

Oh, and also, are you fighting the same enemy over and over? As their strength boosts go up, they will do more damage to you with their same weapons.

i battled a few different challengers and few in the war, just thought i'd ask here cuz i have been battling for long time, and lab ray has changed my species many times, but it was just today i was noticing it, cranberry you could be right i could just be getting the low end of the icons alot today. i didn't think it had to do with the species as neither one had benefits really.
