The last three times I have donated something to the money tree, I have gotten a begging neomail ("Hi, I just saw you donate stuff to the money tree, can you give me neopoints and items and stuff and things please oh please oh please" only misspelled) within 5 minutes (different people each time). I am so irritated!

How is getting your own items so hard?

What the heck have you been donating? May I suggest an Old Right Shoe next time or something?

Silly people. You were obviously nice enough to donate something decent, do they want to put you off donating all together?

I have a neat little signature on the Neoboards that pretty much sums it up for me - 'Donations are good - if you want to whine and moan; but what is even better? Saying you earned it on your own!'

I do accept friendly gifts and donations, but I don't go out begging for them; if people want to help me, that's fine, otherwise, I can take pride in the fact that I did it on my own.

I remember years ago, I was donating Pick your Own junk to the Money Tree. I got a neomail from someone saying that I was rude to do that and I should donate items that people could use.

I've never asked let alone begged anyone to give me anything before and I don't see why anyone would do that.

I onced newbishly asked someone to sell me her flizzardo for a few k under the asking price. that was back when the cute lil fellars were still in stock, and sold for something like 12k.

ahh, how I regret not being able to get one...

I sometimes donate stuff like omelettes to the tree.
I've got a good 500 now sitting in my box...

Money is so easy to get thanks to things like krawps, so I honestly don't get the point of begging.

Oh man, that's the worst part -- all I'm donating is, like, Half Eaten Berries and stuff. If something's totally useless (like a rotten sandal), I usually discard it. But if something's almost useless but edible (like my jellies or booby prize berries), I donate it because I figure hey, someone can use free food. But I think I might stop donating things altogether if I'm going to be badgered by morons every time.

I donated something like 10 fishing items all at once and immediately got two neomails, one begging and one from a girl who said:

"Hi did you wonder what happened to all your shop? look over here! You might want to restock cos I bought it all" I explained that a shop, and the money tree were somewhat different. She's STILL emailing me though, saying stuff like "if any of your pets are sick I have all the cures." "Do you need that special item? I probably have it in my SDB" etc etc etc. The last one was, "Do you consider yourself rich?" Hahaha...

What really gets on my nerves is that it's not just newbies nowadays, there are also quite a number of people who start boards asking for donations, but they consider themselves better than beggars because they use proper grammar and attempt to be witty. >_> So hypocritical.

I rarely post on the boards or donate stuff because I'm sick of people rattling their little virtual tin cans in hopes of donations. Some users just don't seem to understand that this is a game. If you're playing a game of soccer, you don't go whining to your opponent "oh pretty please be nice and let me make this goal, your side already has so many points already and I have none ;_;" because it defeats the purpose of playing the game in the first place. I have a feeling I'm just rambling by this point but the general idea is, yes, beggars are irksome and in my opinion sort of miss the point of playing Neopets anyway. I mean, if somebody actually gave you lots of np on a regular basis just for begging, wouldn't you quit Neopets pretty soon from sheer boredom? That's not playing, that's just having lots of imaginary money.

Hah, I envy you guys who think making NP is easy. I struggle and work my ..er.. butt off playing games for hours and hours just to make around 20k a day. XD
But I'd never beg, that's just stupid. Whatever I have, I know I earned it myself.
