Does anyone have any tips? Is it just luck now?

I looked at some guides and they tell me to: A. refresh until the weakest petpet comes up (saffron) or B. switch to another petpet you don't care about, and the loss will count for him and not you.

But neither work (refreshing doesn't change the petpet you're battling, and the loss still counts if you switch petpets), so i'm guessing neopets fixed these things. so is it just luck?

As far as I know it is just luck... I tried those tricks a few months back and had no luck with them either. I suppose there might be a slight bit of strategy to when you shield, but that's all. I've given up on getting 10 wins in a day.

Refreshing has never worked for me either. Oh well:( Guess it is just luck now.

I've asked a person with a gold petpet battle trophy, and yes they said it was all luck.
