I never actually buy these, but a few have somehow managed to find their way into my SDB through my daily visit of Coltzan. Now I ask - what is the best use for them? Sell them? Spend them? On what?

If you care about your pets' stats, then use them at the Training Academy to train your pets. If you don't care, sell them ^^;

Like jade said but before you sell them merge the coin values together (ie if you have 5 2 Dubloon Coins merge them to make 1 10 Dubloon Coin. I believe (don't quote me on this though since I'm not sure) that the bigger the value the more they are worth)

I sell them and use the profit to buy codestones so I can train my pet at the Mystery Island Training School



In theory that would be how it works but in practise it doesn't. The one dubloon coin and the two dubloon coin are both somewhere around 2k-3k (making the 1 dubloon coin essentially worth more as its price isn't half that of the 2 dubloon coin). The 10 dubloon coin is about 10-15k which isn't right either, if the greater denominations were worth more.

If 1 dubloon coins were worth 2k then 10 dubloon coins should be worth a minimum of 20k (which they aren't) is an example to demonstrate my point

I did have a schedule set-up at one point to work out how much each dubloon was worth for each denomination, too bad I got rid of it.

If you have a fast computer and have lots of dubloons, the smugglers cove occasionally restocks with great items. This is really hard to get, however.

a 2 dubloon coin used to have more value then a 1 dubloon coin, which would be a very interesting source of income...

buy a 2 dubloon coin, go to the restaurant, buy something with a value of 1 dubloon, you'll get 1 dubloon back (this is the only shop where this works), sell the dubloon and voila:

you won money and got free food

I usually just sell them, especially the higher ones.

Out of interest, does anyone know which is better value - codestones for the training school, or dubloons for the academy?

Thanks! I suppose what makes the difference is that there are some codestones which are more expensive than others, whereas there's just one type of dubloon (but then again you have different values... =P)

The best use for dubloons is probably buying smuggler's items

Personally, I like codestones better because you can get Super Bonuses. Is that with Krawk Island too?

Yep both schools give you a bonus from time to time

Up to level 20, dubloons are the better way, but surprisingly, it costs more to get a 5 dubloon coin than it does to get two codestones (unless you need 2 Mains or Eos).
