If this gets to be a problem, there will be consequences. See below the plot blurb for more details on rules to follow.

======== Links of interest =========
Second Thread: http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25079
Altador: http://www.neopets.com/altador/index.phtml?

(Note: Make sure you click CONTINUE (if applicable) when you have completed each part!)
========= The Beginning ============
1. Click the big castle in the center of the map, The Hall of Heros
2. In the very back-right corner, you'll see a familiar character. Click him!
3. Hey! It's our old friend again. Looks like he has a new job-- Janitor. Click that button that's next to him.
---> Hm, nothing happened.
4. Oh well, Now click the Altadorian Archives, then go into the doorway on the right.
5. Click the book that is under one of the table legs and balancing it.
---> Hm, we're going to have to replace it...
6. Now go to the QUARRY. And find a rock that'll be suitable. Stumped? Here.
---> Aha! A good replacement for that book...
7. Go back to the Altadorian Archives and click that same book again.
---> We can access the book now! (Located near the top-right part of the scene)
8. You can read the prologue from that book now.
---> Advance a page by clicking the top-right of the book, go back by clicking the top-left.
*** Page 1~3 Acquired! *** (out of 53 pages)
9. Go back to the Janitor in The Hall of Heros and talk to him.
---> Hm. We're going to need something to help oil some gears...
10. Click each statue until you find a bottle of oil & a rag
---> Note: Location is different for each person. Perhaps you should write where you found it, just in case.
11. Once you've found it, go back to the Janitor and click the button again.
---> The ceiling opens up! Let there be LIGHT!

======= Enlightenment =========
Alright, so here are points of interests now.
* On the left side of The Hall of Heros, there is now a staircase leading up to a dome-shaped room. Looks like a telescope is missing.
* Although using "http://www.neopets.com/altador/archives.phtml?board=6" once got you to the Astronomy Club, it NO LONGER WORKS.
* If you click each statue in The Hall of Heros, on the very top section of the picture of the statue, you can look up, and get some arrangement of gems. The following are the same for EVERYONE, here is the breakdown:
- 20 above King Altador
- 22 above Jerdana
- 22 above Siyana
- 22 above Kelland
- 19 above Florin
- 18 above Torakor
- 19 above Darkest faerie
- 22 above marak
- 16 above fauna
- 20 above Psellia
- 17 above Gordos
- 19 above Sasha
--> As well as a helpful compilation of the pictures by soymimi here

Concerning how statues were assigned to each person (if they were assigned), do you think any of it was gender-based? I.e., did any male players end up with one of the female statues, or vice-versa?

It just occured to me that some of the younger players, especially the boys, might be a bit disheartened by being assigned to Jerdana or Sahsa, and I wonder if TNT considered that....

I am male, and I was indeed given Jerdana - I'm not too fussed but I see your point. I can't see it being too much of a problem though.

Cheers for the split inrun. ;)

I'm male, and my statue was Jerdana, I think the statues are random.

If we are playing a numbers game here: when the astrology club returns that will make six clubs.

Huh. I honestly wasn't expecting that at all. I wonder if it was by screenname, then, like the LDP symbols were (appararantly) assigned?

I think it would be safe to assume that your gender does not affect what statue your oil & rag was behind. I believe it's randomized.

After much staring at that telescope stand in the observatory, I still think it looks like a much smaller telescope has been placed there and a larger one has been stolen.

I've "zoomed in" on the picture and if you look closely, you'll see that it's really an empty telescope stand, the smaller telescope you see is just a little trick played by the shadows ;)

OK, I think we have had enough of the gender checks, back to the work.

Does anyone know where the idea of Jerdana being in the orb came from? It was said as a fact but I'm not sure of the source.

Also does anyone want me to whip up some statue markers like the ones I did for the symbols last time?

i've noticed that Jeranda is the only one with a sun on her statue (on her skirt) and it's the only nine pointed sun i have seen (not to mention the only one with an odd number of points. Also, the book has only told Jeranda's reason for being a heroine. I'm guessing either she got that as to be honoured or by the end of the plot everyone is going to have a sun somewhere on their statue.

I've seen it mentioned a few times about the statue at the bottom of Maraqua. ( http://www.neopets.com/water/statue.phtml )

If I recall correctly, it's been sitting there for a long time. (It was added by TNT probably about six months ago or so.) What I'm wondering, what is the connection between the ruins of Maraqua and the discovery of Altador?

Altador seems to derive the "Alt-" beginning from altitude, referring to the height. To get there you have to go to Faerieland anyway, which is in the sky, and in a high tower. The statue is, however, at the bottom of the ocean floor in the Maraquan ruins-- quite the opposite of the location of the portal to Altador.

So... wouldn't it be interesting to ponder that, if that statue is originally from Altador, how it got to the bottom of the sea in Maraquan ruins?
