I know how to search petpets, but how do you find pets and items?

Is there a /pet/ thing when you're searching pets?

i'd say you are better off having the people at Neoitems finding the images for you. they already have an extensive database of item images.

Make your own page with every possible combination of pets. (At least that's what I did.)

I once set up a script that created an HTML page with all the possible pet/color/pose images. I removed all the image links that worked, then launched the page daily to see if there were any new pet images posted to the server. It always took a long time to load/check/edit, though. >.< That's why I eventually stopped updating it.

I kinda stopped playing neopets about the same times ruki's and yurbles came out...

I would love to see a grid page like that again, and see all the new pet combos that have been created since I left.... would anyone post a link here?

I don't have a link. I used to have it on a petpage before the problems with petpages started.
