Well, I just lost 150k. (And no, i'm just venting, i don't want anyone's np or items XP)
I honestly did not know that an ornate maractite dagger was only worth 35k. I did a lend with someone (who also says they're from ppt in their lookup) for 150k, and then they blocked my neomails so i couldn't trade back. I know i feel like an idiot, and i won't get my stuff back, but i feel really bad for the other person they did this to at the same time as me..
Anyway XP enough venting..

Ugh, tough luck!. It's a shame they say they're from PPT though.
Maybe alert a mod about it if you have some evidence.

well, i reported them on neopets, stating i know i wouldn't get my stuff back, but that they should look into that person, and yeah, i have a neomail saying they'd lend to me (can even screenie it!) and then i can screenie where it says i'm blocked.

They may freeze you since lending items for money isn't legal

i thought they said in neopian times not long back it was ok

That is very sad
The Neopets Team frown upon the loaning of items and may do nothing at all. Did you find this person through PPT? If you did, maybe the something can be done to disipline the person.
Please price items thoroughly and never offer collateral OVER what the item is worth. I had somebody want a rare item in collat for an Icy Snowflake. It was worth almost 100K more. I politely declined to borrow from them. Also, try to avoid CASH collateral. It is too easy for them to take a 'gift' out of it and say "Take it or leave it." on the return of the lesser amount.

Yeah, this is the first time i've gotten scammed while loaning, and now i know to look at the actual prices of items before i do any lending. i don't mind giving tips for lending (I'm very nice with tipping, sometimes between 5-10k) but i doubt i'll be doing any cash lending anymore.
and my friend felt bad for me, and said she wasn't coming back to neopets anyway, and gave me her nps ^^ *luffs her* she's so good to me
she knows how mad i was when i lost that np earlier.

TNT doesn't have a problem with item-loans. The only thing they're against is tipping, in any shape or form. Asking for tips, implying you'd appreciate tips, all against the rules. You also can't demand collateral for lending pets.
I'm sorry you lost out, but that's why it pays to do your research before engaging in a transaction like that. Hopefully TNT will recognize this as scamming and punish the person who did it to you. Be a little more cautious in the future.

i get paranoid with someone who is asking to borrow/give a few thousand NP. but 150k? I would have to be mad...but given that only the more elite items of neopia are in the range, i better get used to big money spending.
