I have a feeling this might be a bit of a sore subject with some people, but I just wanted to ask, has anyone else tried this? I signed up for the 15 day trial last night and I love it :)

Nope. Too expensive. When I have money to waste, I may consider it, but when does that happen? :P

I've been Premium for just over a year now. I can't imagine playing the site without it. :)

at the moment, I don't have it, and don't plan to get it. Mainly because i'm afraid that if I try it, i'm gonna want to keep it.

I have premium and it's great, especially for wiz-sniping. I managed to score a chocolate that sells for 30K for 300np. :D

I've got premium. I was originally just going to keep it for a month, but... it's so wonderful not having ads, I decided to keep it for a few more months.

It's actually not expensive. Even if you have little money to throw around, most people still get several sodas out at restaurants each month, or coffee at Starbucks or similar place. Skipping just 2-3 sodas or 2 lattes each month more than pays for Premium.

The cheapest package is only 19 cents a day, and call me crazy but I think that's dirt cheap! If you played for two hours each day, that's 10 cents an hour, and most of us play a bit more than that ;) I'm fine with them getting 1 cent out of me per hour ;D

If anyone's curious about what some of the features look like, I have some screenies of portal modules up on CodeMonkey's petpage.

I was close to taking premium. But then there was the kaos thing and Neopets awefull support came up again.

I live in a foreign country, not the U.S. I can't imagine how hard it must be to get good support from here, if it already hard to get it through the phone. (There was a post that someone called the support, what if information, like personall adress or credit card information got into the wrong hands through a scam, cg, whatever. What would Neopets do? Basically, they said that it was all in your hands and they bore no responsability. That really put me off.)

Plus, the fact that you can only cancel your premium by phone... I mean, no simple cancel button?

I love playing Neopets, don't get me wrong. But I wish for a better support and an easy cancelling feature (played Wow, something like that) before I lay my personal information and money in their hands.

They allow people outside of the US to cancel by emailing their tech support to avoid the cost of calling. If there were a simple cancel button, and your account was compromised, you'd be out of service rather quickly ;) They also have a live chat option. It's quite easy to get in touch with them from any country, and they also have a nice help page and FAQ that answer most any question.

They have their T&C available to read, as any other company does when you sign up for their service. Most people don't bother to read, though. It would be much better to read that than what a player says, as it is easy to misconstrue or misinterpret information (which can be done quite innocently).

You know, if that whole kaos business was really that widespread, there would be very few people playing Neopets at the moment. And if Premium support was so hideous, most would not keep paying. I do rather think it's better to look at everything carefully and rely on facts rather than guesses, emotions, and rumours.

I considered it, but I would really only use it for the SSW and Portal (already have ads blocked), and I can't justify spending $11-12 a month on that.

Plus I don't have a credit card, and my parents already pay for my personal site every month.

Gone, forever.

had it, and dumped it after 4 months. I realised that I had just wasted about 50 bucks... and then thought about all the other things i can do with 30 bucks.... and realised what i DID do was have it basically say "premium" on my user lookup.... got about 100np a week from the supposed "space faerie scratchcards"..... aaaand got access to a portal with a bunch of non-neopets-related stuff on it i dont care about.... info that if i actually wanted it, i could get it on google in 2 seconds....

the ONLY good thing about it was the super-shop wiz. But its not worth paying money for, because im not too lazy to refresh a couple times to get the cheapest price. So instead of a pretty useless portal and a worthless weekly scratchcard, I could say i paid for three of my friends birthday presents, or a parking pass at school for the winter and the spring... or a two year supply of blank CD's.... or i could go out and have fun with my friends and the movies or resteraunts on multiple occassions....

NOT worth paying for a little crappy "bonus" on a free game website.

It has 30+ modules to choose from, only 8 of which are not Neopets...and most of those are weather, movies, etc., and you don't have to have any modules you don't want. Maybe you just didn't check it out thoroughly? It's quite useful once you set up the modules you need.
