I was just checking the Neopian calendar for important dates 'n stuff, cause I don't really know what's coming up in January. I noticed that March 3rd was cancelled due to lack of interest day. Did it use to be a day for something, or is a day to celebrate apathy?

Oh, everyone thinks I'm crazy, just 'cause I try to warn people about the face-sucking aliens headed for Earth. Yeah, laugh now, have your face sucked off later. When the aliens come, I'll be the only one left with a face, and I'll be using that face to laugh at all of you, even though I'll be sad.

It goes back to a year ago (March 2004) when they attempted to release the news on a schedule at midnight NST. In order to enable the system properly (which they didn't keep for long), they skipped that day's news. Since then it's been an ongoing joke.

Back nearly two years ago (Gosh, has it really been that long ??) this was announced. They've made a little running gag with it now...

Yes, that is correct. March the 3rd will not be happening. Basically, we are now syncing the daily content once per day, and because of all the extra things we have to do (syncing to 120 servers, translating the site), it is happening much later than usual. As a result, by the time the site syncs the actual day that news refers to is over in more than half the world. The fact that we are 8 hours behind GMT does not help that fact either.

Australians, for instance, will first hear about Uni Day (March the 2nd) at 4pm on March the 3rd, and those playing from Nuku'alofa in Tonga have it even worse!

So anyway, we will be doing the content one day in advance from now on, and then sync at midnight on the previous day. We hope you like this idea!! All the stuff that will usually go up on the 3rd will be happening on the 4th, so don't worry about missing Mystery Pic :)
