It seems that several flash things on Neopets, including the Lost Desert, TYS, WoE and many games aren't loading for me. Anyone else encountering this? If it's just me, any suggestions on how I can fix it? o_O

I was having huge problems yesterday. Games either wouldn't load or they'd start to load and just stop. The advent calendar animation wouldn't load either. No problem with worlds though.

In my case, I think the problem was that I had my computer reformatted yesterday and had SP2 installed. After many hours of fiddling around, trying different things, I finally, in a fit of frustration, uninstalled SP2. Things are working again *shrug* so I don't know if that truly was the problem or not (is not computer savvy).

I'm still having problems . . . I'm trying to load games, and it gets stuck on "transfering data from swf.neopets . . ." :( Help?

Have you recently blocked anything in your Adblock that may have blocked all flash things on Neopets?

Do you have the latest version of Flash?

I had the same problem on Neopets the other day. I ended up reinstalling Flash (or getting the newest plugin, anyway), which still didn't seem to want to work, so I rebooted and from then on it was fine.

So, I guess that's the best I can suggest if you're still having trouble...

Uninstalled Flash, reinstalled it, restarted computer. Nothing changed. However, the problem is only on Firefox, not IE. I've been having some screen freezes and other errors (yet a virus scan turns up nothing), so I believe it's my old clunky computer. I'll have "Geeks A' Knocking" come out and work their geeky magic again. Thanks for trying to help anyway

sorry I couldn't be more helpful. I'm still having horrible problems myself. I just emailed my computer guy - it looks like I'll have to have my computer reformatted ... again (just done Wednesday). Games on Neo will not load at all on IE, and only some of them will load on FF. Plus other assorted fun stuff - IE randomly freezing and crashing, etc.

I updated to the latest version of Flash Player a couple weeks ago, Flash 8, and every once in a while the darn thing just freezes up my screen. I never had any problem with Flash 7. I use Mozilla/Netscape... I think the problem is that the new version of Flash is buggy for Firefox and Mozilla.

Looking to buy Snowbunny Stamp and Sticky Snowflake Stamp. If you're selling, please PM me!

Sierra, after reading your post, I took myself a little visit over to macromedia, just to see since I thought it was just me (and knowing I'm having issues) and apparently, Flash 8 has some sort of new "security measures" built in ... kind of like WinXp SP2. Security's great, but if it keeps you from using a program or even your computer for it's intended purpose, all that security's going to do is drive everyone batty! I stumbled across this forum on the macromedia site - people having problems, but I'm not seeing any answers: http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/webfo ... forumid=44

Some people this may not affect at all, while others of us end up having a horrible time of it. I'm wondering how much of my games either not loading or only partially loading on the site is my computer and how much is the new Flash now.

I think it may just be Firefox. I tried visiting another site relying on flash earlier, and that too did not work. Adblock isn't showing anything to block either, so it must be something up with 1.5. I googled it, but saw no real solutions available.
