Hi everyone.
I played neopets a couple of years ago and now I've got the addiction back. The problem is that I don't remember very much.
I was wondering if you could give me some tips about where the money is nowadays to get myself back in business.. What shop is the most profitable etc.

I currently restock a little in the food shop, invest in stocks and play some games to earn my income.
I do snow faerie quests and eskophagor if they are cheap.

And four questions for you:
1. What's up with the Symol Hole?
2. If you zap your petpet. Can you sell it if it changes?
3. Is it worth trying to get leftovers from Kelp and sell it?
4. Icetravaganzas, sell or scratch?

EDIT: One more question. Around wich stats and level is your pet battle ready? And I don't mean surviving Punchbag Bobs supa death blows..

Which shop depends upon your connection speed and your ability to quickly enter your asking price. Books is a good shop for those who need a lil practice, as almost any item you get is worth more than you'll pay for it.
Depending upon what your max ante is, I like bilge dice for a (usually) painless 5K a day. Always bet the max ante, and don't keep anything until you've gotten the qualifiers. You'll sometimes go in the hole, but bilge always pays you back - if you can outlast it. ;)

4. Icetravaganzas, sell or scratch?

1. There is a new avie for the symol hole that you only get if your petpet manages to retrieve nps from the hole. It is random, and rare. You can visit the hole more than once per day, but use the back button and hit enter each time, do not refresh the second page.
2. Petpets revert to their orignal species and color when they are removed after zapping. So the answer is yes, you can sell it, but only as it's original form.
3. That's a toughie and I'll abstain from this one. :P
4. Also not in my realm of knowledge, sorry. I would sell, as I have no luck at scratching, but that's just me.

Have fun playing!

Edit: I can't type. :P

Thx!

My connection is rather good so the 56k'ers problem ain't mine.
I usually grab a familiar item that sold qiuckly neggs and so on.
So I usually have have 10-20k profit in my till every day.

And I thought that my plan of buying adominable snowballs, and zap them to some much more expensive, was bulletproof.. I was going to be a millionare.. :)

I think I've heard that Icetravanganzas always is a win.
Aren't they sold for around 110k?

Ahh... well then I would suggest a shop at which you know the stock. This link may be helpful.

Nope, sorry, no millions from abominable snowballs or we'd all be rich! :P

Again, on the scratchies I have no idea! I do recall that they were unbuyable, but that's about it. Somebody will come along tonight or tomorrow that knows a little more about them.

Edit:
Just came back in and noticed that nobody else has offered any info, so decided to do a little research for you. It seems that prizes on Icetravanganza scratchies are:
Quote:
- Jackpot
- 50,000 np
- Rare Artifact of Terror Mountain

I got the exact same info from at least 7 help sites, including PPT. None of them state what the jackpot could be. o_O So I suppose it's up to you. There must be a reason they sell for so much! ;)

For Kelp, I found a guide here that includes a price list. You could check the items current price on the wiz. I can tell you that whether or not you get to keep leftovers is completely random and it doesn't seem to matter if your pet is bloated beforehand.

you can see the jackpot when you start scratching the cards, you can always come back later when its a bit higher, i remember seeing it as a couple of million at one time. its displayed beneath the card you are scratching. bear in mind that once you start scratching you won't be able to buy any more cards until you have finished.

personally, i always sell them when i do get them, it is possible to lose on one of those, although if you win the rewards are certainly very nice, i prefer to not take the risk.

the icetravaganza scratchcard is the only one you can win the jackpot on if my memory serves correctly.

they also sell within 2-3 days if you price right on the trading post. :)

as for other things, i'm a dialup user, so i'm not much help, restocking seems to be the best way to earn nps, as well as finding a few games you like :) restocking.. bakery and chocolate shop seem to have quite a good turnover, but you need to know what you are buying.

hope that helps! :)

Thanks again.

I'll sell the scratch card then.
I decided to start restock at the toy shop instead.
I've saw that pricelist somewhere to so I knew that you'll get a full meal for around 60k. The lefterovers are priced around 90k in the shop wizard.
But I don't know if someone will buy it and what the odds of getting leftovers are.

Can you see the whole stock of a shop somewhere so you can search the wizard?
And the rarity index of an item. How do you read them?

i don't quite get what you are saying about viewing a shop's stock.. as for the rarity index, if you really want to know it, you can look it up on the trading post, and it will show you rarities whcih don't turn up in the sidebar search.

and the odds of getting leftovers from kelp isn't that great, and 60k you are best off keeping and doing something else with :P

It sounds like you need neoitems.net. You'll be able to find a complete list of the items for sale at a given shop, so that you may check prices on the wiz. I believe rarities are included there as well.
