Hello everyone,

My daughters ( under 13) spent hours mapping their temple for the Lost Desert Plot only to find that when they went to the "Poogle race" component of the puzzle that the poogle race is "Game Unavailable" since they are under 13.

Thinking that they needed parental permissions to access this, I faxed the form in, got the permissions removed, but STILL they cannot access the poogle race

This will apply to all users under 13.

It would seem that this plot is for OVER 13 ONLY... due to the fact that the poogle race is part of the puzzle.

I have emailed support, the editorial, posted on neo boards, and tried all I can to find out if there is a way around this,

Im wondering if anyone has any further information or suggestions, as to how we can move on and continue our tablet.

The Poogle race is stopping us doing a thing... It is looking like under 13s cannot partipate due to this...

any suggestions are most welcome,

Im also wondering if there is anyone here who is under 13, that IS able to access the Poogle Race and if so, how did you do that?

Many thanks,

SS:)

I'm 12, and I can access it!

I just go to the page. :P

Are your daughters 8 or under?

If they are, then that *might* be why they can't access it. o_0

I don't know... maybe you should just keep on trying. :)

If by small chance your country is australia, I hear that creates some problems with gambling games.

I don't know if skipping right to the betting page will help?

Hi everyone, Thanks for the replies.

The girls are 9, they tell me they have completed a poogle race before , they always feed them the same thing "Potato wedges" LOL Girls say it was about 3 months back last time they played.

Going direct to the poogle race betting part, gives the very same error message,

Quote:
Sorry, this game is unavailable...

I tried changing our country temporarily to New Zealand, and the exact same thing is happening.. so its not the country either,

Far as keeping trying, we have been trying for 2 days straight, and every time , the same message is coming up...

If I understand this correctly ... you can physically get to the poogle races ... but the error appears when you try to bet on a poogle?

I changed my country to Australia ... and I was able to make a bet on poogle #4. (I am over 13, though.)

No, I cant even get to the page, the only thing I keep seeing is that error message,

I was just mentioning that the girls have played the poogles before, but it was a couple of months back,

and now nothing we do, allows us to access that....

That really bites... I had hoped originally that I'd find a link that ended in .phtml?commands&here&stuff&ya that would file the bet that way, but poogle races doesn't do that... (Not surprised if no one understands what I just said :) )

Its so disappointing they have made Poogle Races part of this plot.

Yesterday I was asking on the neoboard about this, and within about 30 mins, I had replies from about 20 Mums having the same problem., noone knew how to fix it, or why it was like that....

The crazy thing is Turdle racing is there.

I guess the plot isnt for young ones.. its a real shame as its really educational working out the puzzles and alot of fun for them too...

Just so disappointing.. Be interesting to see what support have to say.. Im hoping there will be a way to move on in the plot by doing it some other way...

as clicking 300 doors and waiting an hour for each, certainly isnt a viable option.

Have you tried switching your country to the USA? New Zealand might be apart of the problem as well.

You mentioned your girls were now 9. How long have you had the account? Did they perhaps sign up when they were younger than 8 or so?

There seem to be 4 levels of accounts. 8 and under ... 9 to 12 ... 13 to 18 ... 18 and over. Perhaps the "gambling" isn't allowed for children 8 and under.

We signed up on the 1st June 2004, they would have been 7 then just about to turn 8..> They turned 8 in August 2004 and are now 9.

The strange thing is they were doing poogle racing just a couple of months ago, I always laugh at them as they insist the poogles only eat potato wedges....hehe. so yes poogle racing use to be there, its only recently Id say that its gone.

Not sure if this is related we have a McDs promo starting here this week, I know last time all the controversy over here was a major problem.. however I doubt this is country specific since changing my country to NZ and USA still gives the very same error...

Turdles are there without any problem, which is strange as they are almost the same thing, We tried those for the plot as well since they are also a "Rivalry of five" but they dont work for the tablet....

Have you tried filing a glitch report? I am in the US, but my 6 and my 9 year old were both able to get the parchment piece from poogle racing. If your kids were able to previously play poogle racing, I don't think it is an age problem, but something wrong with the site. Good luck!

I'm guessing it is a combination of being Australian and being under 13 (or perhaps ... 8 and under). Probably some conflicting information in the database as to whether you can or can't play certain games.

I'm also guessing that just changing your "country" to a new one won't actually reset any of the flags that say "you can't play poogle racing" or "you can't play scorchy slots."

Perhaps the McDonald's issue is related. Not being Australian ... not sure what the big uproar was about. Did people get mad at Neopets about something on their site? Hopefully it isn't regarding this (which I doubt it could be ... since you can still turdle race).

Just theories, though. Hopefully TNT will be able to something about it.

There was a big uproar about Neopets being a gambling site and how it taught children bad values. There was this one article that quoted some kid as saying something along the lines of, you have to gamble in order to make money and if you dont have money then you cant feed your pets and then you have to take them to the shelter, or some such rubbish. I'm sure the articles are probably still up some where but I havent the slightest of where they could be.
