Anybody else having a problem with parts of ads still being viewable with adblock?
An example would be the last one I saw. I'll take a screenie next time it pops up.
It asks for your zip code box (SO inapporpriate on a site frequented by youth)
that overlaps onto page graphics and ruins some game playing.

Yes, I'm having the same problems. There are a few certain ads that apparently can't be blocked with Firefox. Generally, it's the ones that have input boxes, i.e. the "enter your zipcode", and the "search using google" ones. I hate that.

It's because they aren't images, rather actual HTML.

Report the zip code one, but leave the google ones alone. I'd much rather have a site full of those instead of those flashy ones (and the one that makes noise!)

It's not that AdBlock can't fully get rid of the ads, it's that the parameters you've defined in AdBlock preferences aren't completely getting rid of everything. When you want to block something with Firefox, go to Tools > AdBlock > List All Blockable Elements. There you'll find every component that can be blocked on the current page. Just figure out which entries correspond to the specfic components and block it using the wild card expression (*).

Example: A component I found on this very page "http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/showads.js" can be blocked using the entry "http://*.googlesyndication.com/*". Since the wild card is used in two places, the entry will block all Google ad subdomains and all types of ad content coming from them (images, scripts, html, etc). Use good judgement when blocking with wildcards though, or else you'll wind up accidently blocking content you want to see.
