Has anyone here actually been frozen for autorefreshing? And if so, were you doing the "heavy object on the f5 key" trick, or did you download the Firefox extension or another refreshing program?

It seems odd to me that TNT would freeze for using these, especially when they make so many things (battledome challengers, avatars, attaching petpetpets) dependent on a lot of refreshing. You'd think it wouldn't matter whether we sat there and pressed f5 a hundred times or got a program to do it. Either way they get their pageviews.

Has anyone here routinely used an autorefresher (or the f5 key) without being frozen? I used one once (Firefox extension) to attach my flankin petpetpet, and even then it took an hour and a half (I used the program sometimes and refreshed manually sometimes, and also varied the refresh rate every few minutes). I haven't been frozen... yet, anyway. ;)

Well, I used an autorefresher once, for about three hours, to attach a petpetpet. I don't use them very often. Well actually, I've only used one twice. I do, however, use the f5 key ALL the time. Even when I don't need to(for fun! :P ) I haven't ever gotten frozen, and I hope I never will! And I also hope no one here will get frozen! Or anywhere! I don't see what the big deal is about autorefreshing.

Yeah, me neither... it just seems to be "common knowledge" that TNT views autorefreshers as cheat programs and will freeze you for using them, and I'm curious as to how many people have actually had this happen -- and conversely, how many people use autorefreshers regularly without getting into trouble.

Yeah, and how could TNT tell the difference between that and an autorefreshing program? They're both going to have a steady refresh rate, right?

Well, so does holding down the F5 button...

I usually pile up a pile of coins, and they fall over occasionally. (Its really annoying, my keyboard is REALLY slanted because I have that thingy set up all the time.)

That's what I meant -- putting a heavy object on f5 and using a program are both going to result in a steady refresh rate. I've been informed that the f5 trick would result in slightly differing rates, though. But is TNT really tracking how many times each user refreshes on a page? I could see it if someone set a refresher to go all night or something, I guess... that could attract some attention.

I hold F5 for a minute on three different screens about 3 times a day for the random events. I've always wondered if it was a freezable offence.. Iassume it it,, but going over the rules I didn't see anything about it being illegal. So, I don't know what to think. TNT has us running around like crazy worring about weither we're doing something wrong, or not. I'll justkeep doing it till I get a warning or something.

I prefer a ROLL of quarters propped up ther on the f5 key. My friend has a hairclip she wedges in. We've both been doing that for years without being frozen. I can see how some refreshing appliactions can be seen and dealt with by TNT, but the ones that come with your web browser isn't one of them.

To tell the truth, I don't see how using an autorefresher (even all night) is such an 'advantage'.

I mean, someone got frozen becuase their F5 key got jammed, and they accidently left it there. TNT saw it as cheating. But if you think about it, it aint. I mean, sure, you get good stuff life codestone, map peices, NP, random items and even MPs or PBs. But you also get PAnt Devil, that pink Grundo thing, Shadow Usul, and other bad REs. Plus a whole lot of useless ones :D

I dunno.

I think that unless you're going for a BD opponent, in which case many times you don't have a choice but to refresh like a mad fiend, it almost isn't worth it. I think that's the reason they've made so many crappy REs. Odds are you'll lose more than you gain.

The other week when TNT said the Pant Devil would be easier to get, i wedged a coin under the f5 key and forgot about it, and me and Caroline went out for about 6 hours and realised when we got back.

She still didn't have him (she actually got him on the monday after it finished on the shop wiz page) and had only gained 1 item (codestone) and 26np.

And she hasn't been frozen

I use either the plugin for Firefox or Opera. Why I prefer Opera is ecause you can turn off the images, which makes the page load faster.

Well, I do this regurarily when adopting pets. Sometimes I play dice-a-roo for my friends using this method. And, ofcource, I do this for the avatars or BD opponements.

Not frozen yet.
