Cutting through the lag?

Fri Feb 04, 2005 11:58 pm

Neo is laggy as ANYTHING at the moment and its probably because all the kids are playing. But im wondering how on earth during restock do they take things so fast if they have lag too? Do you get what I mean? I have a fast computer and fast fingers yet by the time ive typed it in the item is gone because it takes ages for it to load

Dunno about you, but I'm blazing fast right now ;)

Hmmm why am I so laggy

No clue whatsoever. Maybe try unplugging your modem for about 10 minutes, or 30 minutes for a new IP if you have one? Thats worked for me in the past :)

They probably use the petpages.neopets.com server. I use that, but not when restocking, because that would be an unfair advantage. Which I think would be cheating.

No. I use the regular Neopets servers. Now I'm begging to lag though.

Well, it is alternating between super quick and super slow for me. There is a new ad on the top banner that keeps messing up my page every time it loads. It is from AutoSales or something like that--a bright red flashy thing. And, every time it appears, the rest of my page is white. Once I refresh and get rid of the ad, everything is OK--but not too helpful if you are trying to buy something cheap in someone's shop and can't get to it because of the nasty banner ad at the top. Grrr!

Hm..I see no banner, becaues I used that code someone supplied a while back to get rid of them for IE. Haven't you done that yet?

Unfortunately, even though you don't see the ads, they still register their cookies on your computer--since that is the case, I would like to see what particular ads I am dealing with.

What I do is I block all cookies except for PPT, Neopets, Photobucket, and various other websites I use. :P

Hm...I do have the Norton professional security mabob. So it filters all that stuff out.

o_0 = How do you do that?

neopets has also been really glitchy lately. Not as much now as it has been for a few days. I have a fast connection and I go through periods where nothing will load...and then everything will load in jsut a second.
