Yah, we've all heard it at least ONCE O.o;; Dumb things our parents/friends have said or asked us about the game we all love and adore. So whats the dumbest thing a parent/relative/friend has said or asked about Neopets?

I'll start. Just today:

Me: move, I gotta go to neopets....
My sis at the PC: but I'm talking with *insert random friend name here*....
Me: yes, but there's this whole new sidebar thing going on in neopets right now, and I wanna find it out (she used to play neopets so she kinda knows stuff)...
sis: ok, then...*moves*
Me: *sits and goes to neo*
sis: HEY! you have the sidebar there and you made me move...
Me: well, I have to unlock it first and then I'll have it...
Sis: but its there, I can see it!!!
Me: o_0 *yells*
Get out! Now!!!

My little brother wondering why I gave my pets last names.

Ahhh, the fact that I play neopets is enough reason to get a 0_o from my friends and even relatives. Then my family ask some of the dumbest questions about Neo, and my little bro, who is sort of into it (but doesn't have a clue how to earn more than 500np) keeps asking me annoying questions and calls me extremely rich (500k -_-). When I tell him about people like featheralley and hrobi, he raises his eyebrows disbelivingly.

My friends used to play it, but they all started finding it 'boring', as do most people who play online games. However, I stuck to it. Dunno why. My friends reckon it was too hard to get good. I saw it as a challenge. Meh. Now, they criticize it greatly. Of course, they all believe I quit too

Same here. There was about 2 weeks when everyone I knew played it, but when 1 person said it was too kiddy or whatever, they all left, except me because I had been playing it way before. lol. Its quite sad actually, that i can't discuss it with my friends. Oh well.

Why did you give your pets last names? Everyone used to play neopets at some point but it died down eventually and just playing it will get questions asked

I dunno.. nothing? My mom plays, so she gets it well enough and I don't tell anyone else besides my parents and online friends. Although one of my aunts saw me playing Faerie Cloud Racers once, she didn't ask questions besides asking what I was playing.

Partly for the comic I'm working on, partly so I could technically keep the same pets when my old account got frozen. Just tacked the last names onto their old names

My mom saw me playing a few times...she has recently read books about psychology or something and then told me...that the reason I play *I'm 22* is because she never let me be immature as a kid, *dude I was so incredibly immature at times it was great* That I have trouble now accepting reality as an adult...and act like a teen or something...

My mom once saw me neopets and asked me if they poop and I have to clean it up.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAH!

Anywho, I dont know why people think of Neo as Kiddish or Childish. I guess its because of their outlook and the fact that 80% of the people who play it has no idea how to earn decent NPs.

Yeah. My whole family hates NeoPets. In fact, they all call it Neocrap. Same with runescape. And they call this site Pink Pony. I swear that they just hate me being on the computer (unless it's poker), but I still love the game. I can't wait for Krawk day to come around, because I have a Transmog potion for arthur_0_dent. He is gonna look wicked awesome!

Oh, and all my pets have last names. In fact, one of my pets only has a last name. Hmmm, never thought about that.

Everyone in my family but my dad plays Neo (even mom), and he makes fun of it a lot.

One day I was talking to my sister and mom about how I restock, and he wanted to know if we all got rich could we use the neopoints to buy a home in Hawaii

I also have three friends who play sporadically, and they all ask for insanely expensive things for Birthdays and Christmas on Neo (which I oblige, by the way- Two Draik Transes, a Faerie PB, a Royal PB, an Electric Blue PB, a Spotted PB...)

So yeah, it's great having a lot of people I know on Neo. I gotta convince one friend to stop talking about it at our (high) school, though.

Aw, I should adopt you. Our whole family plays Neo and loves Neopets. In fact, it was my hubby who first discovered it. He thought it might be a safe website for our daughter and so decided to investigate it for himself. He became addicted and then got my daughter addicted. I was the last in the family to go. And, now I am more addicted than either of them. Oops, maybe I shouldn't say the word "addicted" if an adoption is pending. Let's just say we are heavily "engrossed" in the game.

I know one person in RL who plays - who is now a roommate of ours and only started because she saw a faerie aisha. That was the hook. Unfortunately, she may have to quit to go live with an elderly aunt, and she does not have a computer.

My other roommate? Her eyes just kind of glaze over if I even mention the word Neopets and she tunes me out. I don't mention it to anyone else anymore - too many looks like

Cookie, that's my excuse - I didn't have a childhood when I was a child, so I'm having it now!

I seem to have better luck when I talk about the art contests and the recognition instead of the games.
Though I've been asked to look for contests that give me real money, not just points.
