I found a Fire Petpet Paint brush through a RE. I put it up on trades. And I got a person offering the following book to me: Poogle Performers

Did I do the right thing here by rejecting? C'mon people. Eight Million NP is more than I could have ever dreamed of having, and I just rejected it right off. I need reassurance.

ME: W... wow? 8mil. It just seems a bit too good to be true though. I mean, I'm not saying anything against ya, it's just that an item worth that much from a one month old account is a bit odd. And it's probably a really HTS item as well. But 8 million NP.... I'll have to go with my instincts here mate. No thanks. I'm not saying anything against you, but like I said, it seems waaaay to good to be true.

Its R90. You can't sell it at the price if you really tried! No one is going to buy a R90 for 8 million.

Oy, even if I sold it at half price, check the trades. There are only 3 there. None on the shop wiz. I got Illusen asking me for that item once. I've got no beef with losing my PPPB, I just don't wanna be connected to a scammer.

I counted over 25! One person even has 4 in his/her shop.

Yeah, but none of them are buyable. Or at least none of the ones I'm seeing. Either this is a very well executed scam, a scammer trying to get me into trouble, or I just passed up a deal of a lifetime.

You'd never be able to sell it for that much. If it was possible, do you think he'd be offering it on your trade? No way, he'd have sold it already and he'd be offering pure, or something closer to the value of your pppb at least.

Move on.

Edit: I tell you what I'd do, if you're really unsure about it. Contact some of the people on the Book Award high scores list (http://www.neopets.com/book_award.phtml) and ask them how much THEY'D pay for it, if the opportunity presented itself. Those people generally know their stuff when it comes to books.

Yeah, I guess so, but then there are some pretty eccentric collectors out there Yeah, I was just intimidated by the prospect of getting something really good. But I remembered that old saying "If it's too good to be true, it usually is". Nobody in their right mind would offer me that much Oh well, he seems to have moved on himself, but I'll be damned... I was close to accepting.

I used to be on the list before being iced two months ago. THere are very few books worth that much money, Gebs and the history of the ski lodge v1-3 come to mind. You're talking about a book that's only r90 that is still in production. There is absolutely no way you'd ever get that much money for that book. At most, maybe 500k and even that is doubtful. I hope this helps a bit.

Yeah, it does help actually. It makes me feel less like I've wasted a golden opprtunity.

Well one thing I gotta commend the scammer on is his ability to exucute this scam. He probably bought all the copies of that book on the TP. I dunno. The only thing that set me off the trade most was the whole 1 month old account deal. No 1monther could get any item worth 8mil.

Don't worry, I think you did the right thing. Although 8mil is a lot, even if it was worth that much and you did the trade and it was legit...You'd have a heck of a time selling the book because I am guessing it would be an extremely HTS item.

But still, it the current circumstances you did do the right thing.

People are getting alot of offers with that book, its probably a new bok which will be worth less than 10k after prices go down, my advice..

could not be a scammer since to hack into neo's system he would have had to got a real item to bid on the brush. i would have accepted.
