She's talking about how there was no New Years Day Sidebar theme released, which a lot of people had been hoping for since no Christmas one came out either. :(

I am also among the extremely dissappointed :(

Maybe since they made that big banner at the top they are having problems making sidebars.

Last Night at midnight neopets went down correct?

Maybe they were trying to make a sidebar? (wishes)

Or maybe Adam got really drunk and screwed up the site somehow :roflol:

Edit: Sylince (sp?) I love your set and your username, really really cool!

I would like to believe the first one, but the latter is probably closer to the truth. :P Though I'll eat my hat if they were trying to make a new sidebar, but I just doubt it very much so.

I've about given up hope on TNT doing anything exciting like a new sidebar. I agree the advent items were not real exciting, they weren't terrible-hey they were free-, but not exciting for the most part. I think TNT has too much on their plate, and maybe rather than saying they are going to be doing something they should just keep it to themselves until they can give us the goods for real.

Yeah..I've been wondering 'bout that also...did TNT ever name a winner in the Lookup of The Week contest? I've been wondering but haven't done much reading up...anyone ever see a winner announced? That thing was mentioned before Bannerzilla was implemented on the site, so now that I think about it, it's been on the back burner so long it probably fell off the stove by now. o_O

Correct me if i'm wrong But if you think about, New years is sort of religious because there is the Chinese New year but i don't know if they celebrate both.

I think the whole debate that TNT isn't releasing avatars/sidebars of holidays because of global "religious" differences is reaching. :)

Examples from the past:

Image Valentine's day is a custom celebrated on the 14th of February, the date of the death of Saint Valentine. Let's not forget the V-day rings, V day shirts, plushies, foods, and earrings also on the site. ;)

Image Easter's roots is about celebration the resurrection of Christ. The easter cybunny and all his easter neggs would have been rethought ages before if this was really an issue.

Image Just about anyone knows how many Halloween items there are on neo, as well as pets. :o Halloween itself is a holiday chock full of religious traditions. ;) And a sidebar had already been released with that theme. ;)

Image Yup, this is a Christmas Paint Brush. If the religious debate really was an issue, I'd assume it would be a "Seasonal Paint Brush" or even an "X-Mas Paint Brush" and the pets it paints would be named accordingly. ;)

So, basically I think it boils down to this...TNT just hasn't "gotten to it". Not that they aren't doing it because they feel it'll have social reprocussions from the site players. ;) The religious thing is just an excuse in my opinion... :P

I do sort of agree with that. Lots of religions have their own calendars and therefore their own New Year, but we need an at least semi-universal calendar so that when someone says "I'll see you on the 15th of May" the other person knows what they're on about.
