Slowing, Haste, and the two Innates? ;)

I agree with the innates, but I feel that slowing and hasting is better done using potions.

Well, I'm not exactly a newbie to Neoquest (I've gotten up to Chapter 3 on Normal difficulty) but I am now stuck on Chapter 1 thanks to the Neopets team. *Grumble, grumble*

I've recently aquired Mipsy and I've noticed that she relies almost totally on her spells. So should I not waste my gold on weapons for her and just invest skills in Group Damage?

Group Haste is much more economical that potions in monster battles (it's efficient, too). I skipped slowing the last 3 times I finished the game -- I didn't need it.

I haven't put many points into Slowing - I'm still undecided on that. However, Haste has been useful so far :)

Gone, forever.

I just beat Zombom at level 13 on Insane. Admittedly it was a hard fought battle, with me coming stuck a couple of times and only having a couple of Healing flasks left.

Still, now I have Mipsy and life's slightly easier. :) What level should I be for Ramtor?

I took out Ramtor v1 at level 17 and v2 at 21 on Insane. (I wanted to be sure I could cream the Leximp with no difficulties when I got there.) YMMV.

As for the ongoing DD vs GDD debate, I'm of the "DD is more useful against Terask II and therefore better" school. Moreover it recharges twice as fast as GDD, so you can do more average damage per round.

Also, I tend to concentrate on one enemy at a time, which makes DD more useful than GDD.

Still, GDD is handy for wiping the last few HP off of multiple oponents at once, I'm not overly impressed with Group Haste or Slow -- I'd rather use potions. I'm thinking of taking both DD and GDD on Evil this time around. (If I had to play Insane again, though... which thankfully I don't -- I'd take DD and Damage Shields just like I did the first time.)

I go with DD on the grounds that it's more efficient to pick off one enemy at a time (especially with the Faeries) and it deals more damage to (single) bosses. Plus, Talinia can attack multiple targets, and one person is good enough for me.

EDIT: I beat Devilpuss without getting hit once today, and I also defeated the Faerie Thief once. I'd say that I'm making good progress. :)

Well, I've distributed Mipsy's points all kinds of ways (I've completed normal once, insane once, and evil 5 times). This last time I concentrated mostly on DD but did put a few points in GD so I would finish off multiple players. I also found that putting 11 points into Damage Shields worked out extremely well.

No offense, but even at level 15, I think think damage shields are terrible.

Hehe,, yeah if you can't choose go for the innates at both DDs.

Although, one skill will be 14 ;)

i think the damage shields are horrible too... i mean, everyone will do over twice that amount of damage in one turn... even velm. mipsy would probably more useful casting another (G)DD spell

I have a strange feeling that damage shields cap the maximum physical damage done to you to around 64. If they do indeed work this way, they're useful.

So.. I've -finally- made my way to Terask I.

Any tips, suggestions, etc. would be extremely helpful. I've been reading this thread and have been getting all kinds of mixed messages, so I think I'll just ask my questions. :P

Should I just use haste potions instead of Mispy's Group Haste? (I think I maxed out her Group Haste..)

Slowing potions I just throw continously at Terask until one hits in the very beginning?

Does Velm's group shield last forever? I've never seen it go away, but I assume it can't be indefinite. O.o Likewise for Mispy's Group Haste.

And since I've never -ever- used haste/slowing potions, I think I'll just use the assumption that they each last for around 25 seconds. (Er, is that too long or too short?)

Finally, the general strategy is for Rohane, Talinia, and Mispy to attack while Velm heals, and occasionally throw damage potions?

I know, I should be angsting like this over Terask II, not Terask I. :P

Use both. Let mipsy cast group haste on first turn, then make everyone drink potion. Recast the group haste spell once in a while not to be left out of the rain when the potions wear out.

Yep

Nope, neither lasts forever. They last about 40-60 game seconds

Too short. The potions have approximately the same duration as spells.

I find that Talinia can also throw potions. See what works

:D I finally beat Neoquest II on Insane :P

Terask wasn't as hard as I thought. I only had a bit of trouble when 3 of the 4 members were Mesmerized. But they recovered quickly.

I got a Sword of Apocalypse.
