Besides the thing with Anshu, I also noticed that according to the cook, Hoban said that Linae kept going on about how he was bad luck. In her story, Linae does mention that she thinks he's bad luck but doesn't say anything about having talked to him. (I also notice she starts her story after she's said whatever it was that ticked Hoban off during the meal.
I still don't get how they didn't notice that Orrin was missing for the entire storm...
I think Banju is trying to shift suspicion off himself by playing up Linae's comments to Hoban, and that whole conspiracy theory between her and Anshu. I really don't like him, can you tell? >> He did it in the library with the candlestick!

It is interesting that she remembers Hoban being at the helm while the others remember him being on different parts of the deck. (Note that the captain remembers being at the helm himself, at least during part of the storm.)
That's true! But he is the captain...captains like to think that they do whatever they can for the ship when it's in peril. I'd be inclined to trust Linae's version more; she doesn't like Hoban but still recalls him going to the wheel...a very important and difficult position in a big storm.
I also don't think TNT's being lazy (despite that whole not updating the map and typo), I think they're trying to establish that everyone's memories are different and can be changed by this or that (Linae's dislike of Hoban, etc)...I defintely think it's deliberate.
