I hate this! I just got online for the start of my NeoDay, and it's down! Very annoying. Ah well, more time for the forum :)

See, but your complaining about them NOT taking down the site for that glitch, but NOW you're complainng about them taking down the site for this glitch. That's what's frustrating. You get mad when they don't, you get mad when they do. They can't win with you (plural).

I 100% agree, I'm tired of people complaing about the glithes and saying that the site should be taken down and when it is down, they complain even more, just be happy that neo is trying to prevent users from getting glitches and doesn't leave the site on so everyone loses their hard earned stuff.

Actually, my point was that they would close down whatever part of the site was having problems, so that the parts that weren't having problems would be accessible. I know of another Virtual Pet website that does this, so that's the only reason I brought it up.

And my point is that this problem obviously is affecting much more of the site than just one area, and therefore they can't close it down.

Just an idea for perhaps other problems that don't take much to be fixed. But, eh, whatever. :/
I still think it being down for this long is ridiculous, but I guess it's a pretty big problem and needs the maintenance.

*clears throat* Pardon the immaturity, but...

it takes one to know one.

Why should I, or anybody else, be ashamed of their actions (defending neopets) if the peple doing the complaining in the first place aren't ashamed of theirs?

Happy with Neopets

Good suggestion but I doubt it would happen. Even if Neopets has those capabilities, I would assume it's much easier to just take down the whole site. Besides, it usually doesn't take this long to fix something so it's no big deal. And Hey! this may not even be a glitch. It may be a server change, or something else necessary for the site.

Okay, now I really need to go to bed.

Just a thought

Perhaps TNT should announce the downtime for the maintainence a few days before..if indeed they are doing some repair work or uploading a new project. That way, people alreayd know that the site is going to be down.

As for those unexpected downtimes..i don't know how they can announce them, maybe they can try and estimate roughly how long it would take for the site to go up, and they can put it on the maintainance page. So people don't have to just sit around and wait for the site to come back up again

Well, as someone who isn't thrilled with all the downtime and having a friend who also plays just a couple times a week being in the middle of a game when it went down again I have been feeling kind of :x off and on earlier today.

On the positive side - with the site going down constantly, I turned the computer off, I got all my gardening chores done, went out to eat with my friends, then came home and got around to making 2 sets and a new lookup. So it's not all bad :battar:

Not exactly. I think we had about 2 hours where the site wasn't down, but now they took it down again.

Okaaaay, let's see. I guess you're aiming this at me, since I'm the one you've quoted. I never said anything about having to be "ashamed" of one's actions. And "it takes one to know one" sounds kind of like what you hear in the sandbox or on the playground. Obviously I struck some button with you, and for that I apologize.

Looking to buy Snowbunny Stamp and Sticky Snowflake Stamp. If you're selling, please PM me!

Wow it's never been down for so many consecutive hours before, even with a 2 hour 'break' in between. Even the main page is down, which has never happened before (as far as I know). Maybe they're doing a really major overhaul of the servers or something, which I think is a good thing because it might mean less problems from now on.

But anyway, it is pretty disappointing not being able to play my favourite game :(

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure that Neopets won't be back up until later today. The maintenance crew probably went home by now (it is 12:30 A.M. where they are).

As a business that they make money from (from merchandising and such) you'd think it would be in their best interest to fix these problems as quickly as possible (regardless of the time)

Even if it means hiring more people specifically to deal with this kinda stuff on the weekends or after midnight.
