Let me post them here, since it really doesn't matter who sees them.

Try (according to Dark's coords)

-514, 285
-472, 307
-416, 267
-466, 252
-495, 71
-360, 316

Yeah so....apparently I have won. I don't really know why. I mearly clicked on a very small cluster of start that just so happened to form a perfect cube. I thought what the heck might be an easter egg or something.

Screenshot

Wish I could help others but I don't really know how it makes sense.

This is a lie. Please don't assume people here are stupid. I've seen what it's supposed to look like when we do solve a constellation (though I haven't solved one yet), and it's not that.

About the second set of stars... I got it, too, on the first day. My friend and I were thinking... you know how there's one bad server and the clock on it is wrong and stuff? It messes me up while I'm restocking. Anyway, maybe this is a situation where one server has some mixed-up info on it and it thinks we have different coordinates. Might explain why it happens sometimes, not on any set schedule.

Umm... why don't I believe you? I mean, firstly, why would TNT change the font they'd used for the entire starmap just for the "winning" script? And secondly, there are quite a few more than 10,000 people of the site, so I highly doubt you could've finished 3rd out of 10,000.

Just my thoughts...

Guys, I just don't get it. My stars go up to 340. When I did that get_star page, it wouldn't load. When I opened up some other link I saw here that extended the map outwards, they went up to 340.

In the simplest of terms, can someone please explain to me how my stars are supposedly supposed to go up to 500 something?

the coordinates in the box = where the crosshairs are we have covered this look at past splits.

Thirdly the picture is named gag.jpg.....or it was when I loaded it.

I have the same question. The range only seems to be from -340 to 340 for either direction, so I don't understand where the numebrs above or below that fall into place. o_O

Edit: Nevermind. The stars themselves have coordinations within that range when you hold the cursor over them.

Okay, very simply... when you first load the telescope, the crosshairs are at 0,0 and you are able to see/click a certain radius around that area.

Follow?

At the extremes, the crosshairs are situated at -340,340 , 340,340 , 340,-340 and -340,-340. However, like at 0,0, you are able to see and click a certain area around those coordinates. Hence the reason that a star can be found at 390, 410 and still be visible and clickable.

Edit:
Written before I noticed Officer1BDI's edit.

But hopefully it will explain the situation nice and simply to anyone else who asks.

Thank you very much, Elurial. I understood it shortly after Officer1BDI posted, but your explanation was very much needed. I appreciate some patience rather than hostility when I don't quite understand something. Thanks. :)

No problem at all. I didn't get it myself at first, until I really sat down and thought about it.

But I can understand the desire for patience, especially after a number of people got testy with a couple of questions I asked in earlier splits. I mean, I know that people often post things that have been posted or asked before, but it's much more productive to explain the situation calmly and rationally than it is to snap and shout about people not paying attention.

sorry it's just the question has been asked a number of times and answered more.

On another note i got an alternate map(finally) but it's completely empty and the extreme only goes to 250 -250 either way.

Yea, I get that. And please don't think my last post was directed at you, because it wasn't (it wasn't directed at anyone in particular - I mean, I don't hold 6 split grudges).

I just thought a nice, simple, rational explation was needed. Maybe the mods could link to it to explain the crosshair situation? I dunno. LoL.

Edit:
I have no idea why your alternate map would be so small... mine was the full size, as I believe other peoples were. But hey - smaller area to study, right?
