I'm with you Cranberry. I'm not even trying to come up with theories about what's going to happen in the little puzzle, just ease some of the confusion. It's been straightforward so far, and people are coming up with theories even more complicated than those in the LDP. Everything in the game and TCG has happened. The book was written during those events, or much closer to them then now, and we're just trying to find missing pages at the moment. The spectacular battle with the reawakened Darkest Faerie is over. She lost. And considering everything TNT has said thus far, we won't be seeing another war. I think all we're going to have to worry about right now is finding the telescope or joining the astronomy club and not whether the darkest faerie is going to rise yet again, kill Jerdana, and destroy the world.

Exactly, Huggles -- thanks. This appears to be simply a mini-plot to discover the history of the new world that has suddenly appeared. I wouldn't be expecting any multi-million NP prizes or anything spiffy like that.

Jazzeeh wrote:So, the betrayer, is the darkest faerie. All the heroes COME from altador. We are trying to find the history of each of the heroes and such.
So thus I believe this puzzle isnt so much about the darkest faerie, but more of the heroes themselves.
If I remember well how TNT prepared the LDP it gave us many surprise twists. Everytime we thought we were so smart, we were tricked. For instance, we all have not digested the foreman toenails...
Thus I wouldn't count on the Darkest Faerie to be the Betrayer, it far too much obvious. I do believe she is a red herring of which TNT is very fond of.
Now, for the moment I have no answers as to who is the betrayer but my feeling goes towards Gordos.

Of course all of this just points to the nature of TNT. Releasing a new plot and then waiting three or more days before anouncing it and giving any new hints to how the plot will likely develop. I think they do it just cause they enjoy the wild speculation that we get in to anlizing every little thing that might even remotely tie in from points on suns to increasing complex views on the stars and that where did you find the oil it could be important. Course we're used to complicated plots now instead of the new wave of monster go fight till you can't win any more and wait for the next wave.

No it hasn't always been missing. They took it down for some unknown reason.
It has been down for at least couple weeks, TCG is regularly checked during hunts for Mystery Pic and before this plot, the last time I checked for the Gatherer card was over 4 weeks ago and it would not show up for me then either. But thanks to TOSO we now have the correct url and image

A few weeks back, I read somewhere about a place called Talador, a mirror world of Altador??? Is there anything else on that and is it relevant?
Second Plot... first time posting!

I heard from labrat167 that the plot's supposed to be easy, and not have a war. TNT was as wiped out as us by the LDP...it was a nightmarishly hard plot! Sounds like this is just a revelation plot, and will have a few minor prizes...but not too much.
Labrat cited a NT editorial that stated this was a minor war, as well as TNT saying that the Haunted Woods/Sophie the Witch will be the next fight.
I hope he's wrong...I want a war!

You're just saying that because he
looks awfully indulgent and evil. I just think he's fluffy and misunderstood!
I agree thus far with everyone saying this is really just a mini-plot with nothing too extreme. Like I said awhile back, I'm pretty sure we're just discovering the history of Altador and the heroes (who are represented currently with statues) with the aid of the Book and perhaps something to do with astronomy.
Alright. Now time to sleep!

Hi there!
I'd just like to thank everyone on here for their ideas and plot help - it really helped me out in the LDB and it's great to see that you're doing it again for Aldator.
I've had a brief look through the other posts and here are my thoughts on what happens next...
1) Locate telescope
2) Replace telescope in observatory
3) Locate constellation matching either:
--a random statue
--the statue the rag/oil was behind
--all constellations in order of the statue
4) Random running around screaming whilst trying to locate the astronomy club.

Talador is not a mirror world, it's just the old name of Altador... I don't know exactly why it got changed, maybe it has been explained in the DF game, but well, I'm Belgian and I don't even have a PS2, so I didn't get a chance of playing it...

He is right, sadly enough... I also wanted a war, but well, this just gives you some extra time to train and I really think this mini-plot is a nice way of introducing us to the newly discovered place...
Oh, and btw, here's the exact quoth from the Neopian Times' editorial:
There will be something very minor accompanying Altador (we were just as worn out by the LDP as you were!), but there will NOT, we repeat, NOT be a war. Please head over to the Battledome board if you'd like to complain.

So... why have we had 4 splits of pure speculation about this "plot"?

I dunno about that. I think I didn't notice because I already knew exactly what I was doing and trying to cement the covetted
Aegis of Sakhmet ranking. I was too busy reading scrolls to check on the foreman.

All i can say is.. To anyone that thinks this is going to be some tiny little plot that doesnt involve a large prize, think about it, everyone has been stuck for over 2 days now, and we only have the first 3 pages out of the book, the other 50 something are still out there... Just think about it, i still havent even joined the astronomy club if it is even possible. Can someone please neomail me if they have any other tips? Thanks

The Editorial says that it's going to be a small plot - the quote is in the last page or so.
We're not necessarily 'stuck', it's just that there's nothing further to do.

Completely true... Take the Lost Desert Plot for example, that one was a BIG one for sure and even that one had gaps where there just was nothing new to do for like a week or so... So in a smaller plot like this, it's convenient for TNT to make us wait a couple of days between age stage to both elongate the plot duration a bit and give more people the chance to take a part in it.
