My pet just got zapped to fire by the other lab ray, so they kind of match now, I guess...and at least I got the avatar...

My question is, can the Pile of Soot continue to be zapped, and will it eventually be zapped into a different species? Or, is this petpet completely done for?

You can keep zapping a pile of soot just like a regular petpet, mine turned into a white drackonack a few days back :)
