Re: Lost Desert Plot Discussion #18 (split)

--Cropped--

Just curious - just so you know, i got the 12 pieces and found the statue in which it asks me to speak to it.

Is it just me or is everyone stumped as to what to speak to the statue with? Or is there another step that everyone is stumped on?

And btw, new here, not new with NeoPets. Ill help out if I can.

SNak Edit: Quoting the first post is unncessary. i've taken it out to make viewing of the thread more easier :)

There have been many attempts to talk with the statue. Check the previous threads for list of failed prophesies

Weclome to PPT, Jetro.

We are all stumped at the moment. Theories now seem to be "wait" or "try random scrolls" or "try saying various combinations of the tablet to the faerie"

Nothing we've tried has worked.

id like to see a thread that kept track of everyones things. you would reply and edit your post to add stuff. no replies if you already have one. it would have

+your riddle
+your statue rooms symbol
+your statue symbol
+symbols on your tablet
+scrolls you have read
+scrolls you have understood
+physical scrolls you have

and anything else like that. it would be easier that way to see the patterns instead of having to weave through 40 pages of posts looking to see parts of what other people have.

not sure if the moderators would go for having another lost desert tyupe post, though. but i think it would really help us find any patterns. and it would cut down on posts if we edited our one reply with updated information and stuff.

Yes, I finally managed to find my Faerie. I was gone all week an unable to work on the plot, after having tried 7 green triangles without success. When I came back, I had to catch up on finding my tablet! Caught up now.

"Banks of the mighty river
Mouth of the river"
Statue in room Green Triangle Ra
Statue Symbol is Tep

Set Kar Tep Kha
Saf Djo Ahn Tep
Tep Set Kar Ra
Ra Ra Ahn Fer

I've read Nem Set Saf -- I think. I read them early in the plot before anyone was paying much attention to the symbols.

I haven't understood any scrolls yet since I just found my faerie, and I don't own any actual scrolls.

Thanks. Not exactly "new" as i used the site in the past. Just the first time registering. Then again, it's been a long time coming as I've noticed Neopets is more than meets the eye - seems like a kids game but there is so much depth in it.

Regarding the puzzle, Im curious, how does everyone figure out clues/puzzles so quickly. Not sure if it's alright to say this but on http://www.maraqua.net, they mention prophecies and such. Not sure how individuals find these things so quickly or things that I have absolutely no idea where to look. Any insight would greatly be appreciated.

Well, with many heads together ... things usually get solved much quicker than when only one head tries to come up with everything.

The loyal followers of this thread have all had their moments.

I think the prophecies that someone translated from "Egyptian" to "English" are fun to think about, I think ... but I highly doubt they will have any strict literal translation like that.

Whenever we figure out how to translate the tablet, it will say something like "Long Live Asparagus!" :)

Anyway ... deciphering things have been fun. We are back to a pure speculation part of the plot now, though.

Ok, I said I was going to bed earlier ... but now I really am. *laugh*

::chuckles::

I'm guessing it will be something along those lines myself. Not sure "Long live Asparagus" but more along the lines of "Sand is great" or something bizarre like that.

I agree, many heads together beats one. Any idea what to expect when we do complete this? I never done anything like this with NeoPets before in the past though I've heard/read that there have been similar things like this in the past. Any ideas what the prizes were? I keep hearing trophys or sidebars... Just out of curosity and based off of past experiences, what are we looking at getting for our headaches?

In a way, im guessing a BD item as some have guessed it would be used to beat Jazan (sp? - it's late, cut me some slack ;) ).

Either way, I'm not all that picky as I'll be more than happy with a trophy and some NP but.. like everyone else, im greedy ;)

I was in the top 300-500 (I think) in the Mystery Island plot, and I got an avatar and a Mystery Fruit Bowl (a 9-icon weapon which I recently sold for 1.15 million). Plot prizes are usually quite good (unlike war prizes!).

Sounds like more than a good reason to suck it up and seeing where this goes. I figured it would be a battledome weapon as it makes the most sense. I cant see it being just NP or a "scroll" as the frustration and the amount of time clicking to look for which room it is aint worth it for those things.

How long ago was this Mystery Island plot? Yeah, Im old but didnt bother with so many Neopets things... ::blehs and continues kicking self::

Tue Sep 13, 2005 6:14 am

That would be really awesome if we got a battledome weapon to use against Jazan that did lots of damage to him and they made other weapons not do very much at all so to beat him you have to do this.

Tue Sep 13, 2005 6:18 am

A single use weapon good only against Jazan would be so worth the effort. What about us conscientious objectors (cowards)? The weapon will just go to waste.

Well, I don't know about other people's war stories but I got an item worth 10million of the last war... still bartering it off bit by bit for np though, not many people have 8 to 10 mil that they can lay down on the table :P

And does anyone renember what symbol combinations have been tried at the fearie statue... I don't mean, tep anh etc. I mean left to right, right to left, top to bottom, etc.
I know I've seen many mentioned, but I don't know which were speculation and which were tested

It makes somewhat some sense. I mean, it would be useless for anything else but beating Jazan and ultimately would be a gallery weapon when the war ends. Again, just speculation and what I've heard elsewhere but right now, we're all just guessing. But like I said, I can't imagine the prize being a sidebar/avatar or something "small" considering the amount of work completing this quest.

We will all probably get the sidebar, regardless of when we finish, as long as we get some of these 'points' Donna mentioned.

BTW, about the temple lockout: after reading a scroll 6 hours and 10 minutes ago, I am still locked out.
