Day 3, and sick of trying all these combinations and clicking randomly.

I finally got through the water plant- whew! My combination is different from the ones posted so far: +x ++d duu.

I looked at fergermister's images of where the water was when he got it; my right and center rooms were the same, but my left room water vat was empty.

ok...everyone forgot to mention that you have to make sure the valves in the room to the right were not up before turning all the others up... i'm a little slow and flooded altador 3 times before i finally figured out to go first to the room on the right and make sure at least one of the valves are down!!

edit...i went back and did it that way...went to the room to the right, turned the farthest valve to the right down, then went on to switch the rest up in the other rooms. i got to the last switch, turned it "up" and i was done! on with the plot!

Very cute. I am pretty sure from the way others have described it that most have at least one lever down in the right room when they start by default. I believe I had 2 down. But you are right that if they do have all up by default that would be a required first step.

I am glad you are done. A few poor souls are still fighting or have given up.

I have a rather odd idea. But since all hope is already lost for many of us, may as well try. I suggest that those still working on the Water Plant do this. Flood Altador and start over. Note each rooms starting point before you change anything. Post that on PPT. Surely one man's starting point is another man's ending point, at some point? Can you tell I am starting to crack up over this?

If it helps anyone frustrated to try it, my starting point is: xx | x+u | ddu

I made a rather half-decent Excel sheet anyone can print to use to check off every combination if they would like to do that. But I am still suspicious of there being some "combination" as many have clicked one thing only to click it back to the way it was, THEN got the plant fixed. I also notice after switching things around a bit, then putting them back to my starting point (without flooding inbetween), my water even looks different all over than at the start.

So it seems there is actually some "sequence" or "path order" to this, rather than a simple combination. Resetting so frequently is a ridiculous extra step, if this is so, but then again this is a ridiculously illogical puzzle.
