Okay, two things in this post.

1) The multiple datas is a bug. It's been fixed, but won't actually be applied to the site until later today.

2) I got this two full days ago... I can't believe no one else has yet...

What was underneath the parchment after you click "Continue"?

And how did you go about getting that? Had you been connecting stars that you thought could form a constellation and just get lucky, or did you actually figure out a fool-proof way to know what was part of a constellation and what wasn't?

And what happens after finding your constellation?

I wish you would actually go into more detail as opposed to just, "Oh, here's a screencap. But, that's about all I'm going to say."

1) Have we had the confirmation then?

2) Something stinks. Why would you, a PPTer, leave it 2 days before telling anyone, and even then not offering a solution to how etc. I'm still sticking to waiting for an update, unless you can give us a screenie of the connected stars before submission.

Something inside me tell me that you just wanted to see if it would pass . . . as an image I think it might, but after all this time I'm sceptical.

EDIT: Found a mistake. The first O in Congratulations is bigger than the last O in Constelation. Nice try though.

That's what I was wondering, too. Why would someone who has been working on this with us from the start, it seems, chose to post some screencap yet refuse to give any explaination of how it happened, or show what an actual constellation would look like, or go into any further detail other than just posting an image.

If it's fake, then I can't understand why someone would do that. It's just going to rattle some cages here and I don't think this is the time to start posting any fake images. Alot of people are getting stressed out over this constellation business and people are beginning to get touchy, so this would only frost their cake.

Edit: Good eye, Jhas! Also, that apostrophe just looks like a line of three pixels and not neccessarily one a fontface would have.

Congrats on the find...two days ago. Dont be so suprised everyone...just seems reminescent of the way things were towards the end of the LDP. Seems some things never change. I do however, vow to all PPT'ers, any info I happen upon...I will share with you. The exchange here in past plots have been awesome and I for one, intend to continue in that rich tradition!

Yeah, the staff member who I reported it to said that.

I blame Flash's antialiasing. Look closely at the two Os in Looks for the rejected message, they're different too. If I had edited it, I'd have made sure to make them the same. ;)

Because this is from dolphinling, I believe this to be real.

Further, unlike bad fakes, the watermarks on the parchment are all intact. Of course, anyone who has deconstructed the Flash file will have access to that background image of the parchment to make such a fake, but then such a person would also have access to the fonts used in the Flash. In the end, with a screenshot this good, it's about trust.

And, again, because this is from dolphinling, I believe it.

I believe dolphinling as well., being one of the tops to finish in the LDP he is good at this. I am a little surprised you have not shared this info earlier though. Not necessarily how to get it but that it was possible to get.

The Os in 'looks' seem to be exactly the same to me...

Signature, eh? We'll see about that...

Although when you think about it, it would be pretty easy to make a fake like this by editing the original message, but because it's dolphinling I'm going to believe it... for now.

The bottom row O's are smaller - I take my 'proof' back. Yet I'm still not confident in it being real. I know you were helpful in the LDP - which again makes me ask why didn't you share this before? And why did you compleately ignore the requests for more infomation? Something still stinks.

Sounds like what my physics teacher said to me when I told him there was sound in space.

And then I proved it.

I'm still skeptical. It may be dolphinling, but I am skeptical because of the time it took for him to come along with this, and also the fact he has chose not to delve further into answering the questions of "how?"...

If there was an explanation provided from him about how, and what is beyond the "continue?", then I would be apt to believe him. Yet there has been none of that provided and, although it's a very good screenshot, and although it is dolphinling who appears to have quite a good reputation, I'm still wary of believing the truth of it.

For me, as a person, I need irrefutable proof, and until I get further information on how he went about to find the first 'real' constellation and what happened after, part of me can not just settle for it.

dolphinling thank you :) the last handful of posts since your picture have been very entertaining and make a very nice change form the same old over again.

fake or real i havent a clue, but if its a fake its a good joke (and has imo lightened the thread up nicely when people were getting all techy) and if its real any hints would be appreciated muchly by me.
