I give up on this for now since it is getting late. I'll just have the others figure it out for now since everything I tried didn't work.

So far people have things like: Default sidebar, default avatar, changing interests to dragons, browsing Neo, but it really doesn't help. You'd think out of more than 50+ of us, someone else would have gotten it.

Could the difficult part of this avatar be that you have to have an event happen to you multiple times? Not that it is random, but like have your pet be burnt by the Lava Ghoul 5 times or something like that. I am just using the Lava ghoul for example, not for a serious suggestion.

Even if Scordrax was in an Advent Calender animation, it isn't like we can go back and look at them on the Neopets webiste. Though it could be interesting if somehow that played a part in it, like having to change your birthday to the day that that Advent Calender animation occurred.

What's starting to crack me up is people whining about how selfish the person is not to tell. Not that there's a prize at stake like in the LC, but it's still something you're supposed to try and figure out. A few people seem to have gotten awfully spoiled by being able to go to the AC board and help sites and get the answer to unlocking avs that other people spent their time figuring out, heh.

Heh, yeah. I could buy the fact that she got it on one account but wasn't sure how, but if she managed to get it on her side account as well -- when no one else has been able to get it at all -- that's starting to look suspicious. It's very unlikely that she, and only she, stumbled upon it twice.

ETA: She's definitely not obligated to tell people how to get it even if she does actually know, but if someone gets an av and posts just to brag -- or worse, to pretend to help people when they really have no intention of helping -- that's just not on.

Honestly?

I think that people who get an avatar first and DON'T want to tell other people how to get it should keep their mouths shut. No one knows whether you've gotten an avatar unless you change your avatar and start posting on the Neoboards, after all. Tantalizing people but refusing to give them the solution is just mean.

Anyone who cares enough about avatars to go look for the solution themselves has doubtless benefitted from other peoples' work at unlocking avatar solutions literally hundreds of times. I think that using OTHER people's time and hard work to get avatars, but then refusing to share yourself when you happen to find one early IS selfish. Unless they've literally never used a hint or a help site to get an avatar then they're accepting help from others but refusing to help people in turn. That, as Cranberry put it, is just not on.

well i hate to break the news but the word on the boards is that they think they figured it out. this is what the came up with:

I am also watching the neoboards, and the people saying that do NOT HAVE the avatar. Unless someone posts directions while actually using the avatar, don't believe a single word they say -- not a single word. There are a lot of people trying to scam others right now with Burninate-related stuff, and the girl with the av is herself trying to sell that TCG on the post.

(Also, the girl with the av has it on both her accounts, and both of them have a LDP trophy. I'll ignore the fact that that's probably a freezable offense and toss out the idea that maybe the av is only available to people who participated. I tried buying a handful of sand from the gift shop, but nothing. Oh, and another thing I tried was toggling the Scordrax TCG to "collected" on the checklist page, but that didn't do anything.)
