I have this horrible feeling that despite all the early puzzle solving I've done, more points will be won by BDers than by the puzzle-solvers. I feel like I've lost this war now.
Well, *sniff* you guys have fun...I'll be drawing pictures in the sand over here......
I feel your pain. All of my pets are mediocre at the battle dome....I guess even now TNT still gives them special treatment come war time...Looks like muscle power over brain power once again.

Well... Scroll of Freezing used to be a reasonable weapon. It does help against the Spirit, you can *almost* beat him in 3 turns that way. But  I think he was just toying with my pet. :x

For all of you who want to invest a little into this war, here's some tips on what to buy:
- If your pet is level 5 or higher, you can put some neopoints into 4 bottled earth faeries to get the "burrow" ability which gives you great defence.
- If your pet is level 30 or higher, you can put some neopoints into 8 bottled dark faeries to get the "sink" ability for even greater defence. After 7 faeries, you'll also get the "drain life"-ability, which steals 11% of your opponent's health and gives it to your own pet.
- You should buy "Downsize!", it's really cheap and reduces all damage done to your pet by 50%. (you can only use it once every battle though, just like the three abilities I've named)
- You can try the Frozen Wand of Crystals or Cloudy Wand of Storms, both dealing quite a good punch and doing some defence too, for around 500k.
- If you want additional defence, you can buy a Patched Magic Hat. (although a Leaf Shield is almost as good and is much cheaper)
- For a bit of attack power, you can go for the Sinsis Sword, which will cost around 550K.
As far as I know, you'll have to go for species-specific weapons or more expensive ones if you want to get stronger weapons...

Thank you so much for the helpful tips

I've never been into the battledome much, so i usually don't get many points during wars (I know how you feel elric!!) One war I managed to get 1 whole point!!

oh well.....thankyou again, Hangman, this will really help me!

Finally beat the spirit -- hey, it wasn't easy for me, I had to dig a little to get the abilities. Scroll of Freezing + Burrow + Obsidian Dagger first turn, Radioactive Muffin + Drain Life + Obsidian Dagger second turn, Regenerate + Obsidian Dagger + Scarab Ring third turn. I don't know what I'd have done the fourth turn but I had 8 HP left out of my wimpy 46. Hope that helps y'all.
Edit: PS -- my Scroll of Freezing disappeared that time. Ouch.

Great job! If I can give you some advice though, I'd use Drain Life the first turn in stead of the second one. Drain life steals 11% of your opponent's health, so it's the most effective when your opponent still has all it's hitpoints...
And ouch, pretty painful to loose a Scroll of Freezing, that's the downside of semi-fragile items... That's why I love the H4000 Helmet, I never have to worry about it breaking or failing

Guys when your talking about using the scroll of freezing It would be very nice of you to warn people that its a one use item.... there are a lot of people reading these posts who are not that experienced in the battledome and who are not familiar with the use of battledome items..(Duhhhhhh Meeeee 79900np)

just as well Ive got a good budget lol

Don't worry, if you've managed to complete your tablet and everything, you'll probably get points too this plot, Donna promised us that you can earn points in different ways this time, so fighting isn't the only way to gain points.
Ya, but I have no time to compleat my tablet, I havn't even fully maped my tomb!

I just got up, read through the posts ... so we're still not 100% sure that these 2 new opponent are in fact war opponents? I mean, given the fact that stealing weapons are disabled and they did just appear says Yes, they are. Very quietly done, no mention in the news, no other opponents disappearing.
The mummy I thought was a new DoN opponent. Am I wrong in that? I ask because I battled the spirit late last night just for the heck of it and at the end of the battle I got the "return to DoN Headquarters" button.
It sounds like TNT does want to give everyone who's good at whatever the best chance of getting points, but I have to say the spirit starting at 50 does seem a little high, especially for people who are either new to the BD or hasn't had the chance to train alot/buy weapons. Scordrax (sp) I'm not going near, multiple heal with Jade this early on? Unless you really do have a strong pet/great set most people are going to get crushed, not to mention really frustrated. The mummy's stats are also pretty impressive, but that one came out in Chapter 6 and had to be refreshed for (why I and many others thing it's a new DoN opponent), didn't just appear out of nowhere like these other 2 did.
The plot itself, though at times slow (which is a good thing to give us all a break) has been great and has really gotten alot of people involved. It'd be a shame if these new opponents with their higher stats/weapons/healers, etc. turned people off.

I'm sorry not to mention something about it earlier... But it's not really one use though, it's just fragile and once-a-battle. This means that it disappears after using it, but you get it back when the battle is over. It can disappear forever though, but then it will give you a message that the scroll got destroyed or something. The average breaking time is after 5 uses, the minimum after 1 use and the maximum so far after 23 uses (numbers taken from IDB).
EDIT:

Yes, you're correct, the mummy is the latest DoN opponent. But it's not because there's the "return to DoN Headquarters" button that it's a DoN challenger, cause you get that button after every fight... But this one
is a DoN challenger, I've read the comic, beaten him and got the trophy, so I suppose that's enough evidence

I guess that Ive just been very very (and a few more very's) unlucky then in losing it the 1st time Ive battled with it... awe wellllllll..
Is there any other freezing weapons hmmmm hmmm not to expensive that I could use that are gauranteed to freeze him?

I'm looking to totally revamp my pets, and I'm sure many other people are too. I've been hard-core training my top pet since yesterday morning, and need some guidance.
Weapons:
Illusens Potion
Genie Orb
Clockwork Quiggle
Kougra Power Sword
Kougra Collar
Scarab Ring
Hand Painted Scarab
Scarab Stone Slingshot
I just recently got my scarab stuff (all three bought today!), so I haven't really had time to tryi it out. I know the rest of the stuff could stand replacing, but I need to know what with!
I have a budget of 500k. Any ideas?
