Technically since the Skindle is at least in the Shop Wizard's database, it does exist as an item but is unobtainable normally (Based on what was found at that time period was supposed to be an extremely rare item from the scratchcards.)

The Snaberack, Tanamurx, Flurm and Chiruck are all searchable as well. There are plenty of MIA items that are searchable, they all exist as items in the database but still unreleased be it through shops or other methods. The Flurm was supposed to be obtained through Test Your Strength, whereas the Chiruck and a few of the others turned up in that jellyworld thing.
If neo released all the searchable items that are unreleased then there would probably be a few hundred more items on the market :S And that's not counting the ones we don't know about, I'm sure there are more petpets on the servers from that period of time but without the names... hopefully more people will lab their petpets into the unreleased ones =)
Where abouts is the information on the Skindle being from a scratchcard? I'd be really interested in seeing that

I actually based on the date it was first up on the servers and comparing it to several items that were known to be connected to the scratchcards (Moehog Skull, Blood Grub, the Haunted Scratchcard snowballs, the other Petpets you mentioned) They were uploaded on the same day in October 2003.
The dates currently on the image's last modified date are inaccurate since every item pre-January 2005 reflect a new upload date.

But... nothing happens. It makes a kind of 'zzrrrppptttt' sound before shutting down completely. The creepy Kookith shoos you away and appears quite angry, so you hightail it out of there before he shoots some miniature laser beam at you or something.

Just got the petpet lab yesterday. First zap renamed my petpet Lunch and second zap turned it into a pile of soot. Yeah an avatar and no more scary looking redrawn tenna.

I got my petpet laboratory yesterday as well.
Used it twice so far, both just changed my petpets name.
