It does look like a batterfly.

Anyway, she is looking back in the picture as if to say "I better not hear one more sniffle out of you, Sophie, or maybe I WILL let this batterfly go, and turn you into one instead!" So anyway, she is probably teaching Sophie that sometimes you have to use live creatures in your potions.

So many people are talking about whether there will be a war or not. I personally have never been in a "war" plot before, and am really hoping there is one.

But how could they work it around this being a story that is being told. It's a narration....the elephant in the first comic is telling a story. So how could we fight a "past tense" war?

I have a theory. I don't expect the prologue to directly affect the main quest/plot/war. Remember, a prologue is just a background story. Here it happens to be of what happened to the residents Neovia and how Sophie ended up in the swamp.

My theory is that after the Usul character, Gilly, has finished listening to the Elephante's tale, Sophie will appear. And she would ask Gilly to find out the whereabouts of her family that she lost.

It is possible that we have to
1) find each family member
2) reverse the curse
3) find out who the Krawk is
4) defeat him and possible minions (WAR, BABY WAR)

That's very feasible. I guess we shall see! :)

A war would be quite nice. the enemies could be the villagers who become evil. time to start hoarding stuff.

But it does look like her, right?

I personally think the prolouge is over, I dont think sophie growing up will have anything to do with the story so I think the next chapter will be the actual story

It's from the first part of the prologue, when Gilly enters the Gypsy Camp.

In a way, the first Meridell war was a past-tense war. Darigan and his minions were laying waste to the city in the past, and Lisha, Jeran & co. traveled back in time and helped. I wonder if this will work the same way.

Another possibility is that Neovia was frozen in time somehow, and will be awoken in the plot.

Does anyone think they'd be willing to write up a little bit on the Sophie the Swamp Witch of now? She seems really familiar for some reason but I just can't put my finger on it. Or just for those of us out there who've never had real exposure to this "Sophie" who seems to have popped up out of nowhere. ^_^

Sophie the Swamp Witch, who resides in a swamp within Werelupe Woods (or 'Bogshot'), and stars in 'Sophie's Stew', a new game in the Haunted Woods. Image

Also, in a Neopian Times Editorial, the Neopets Team hinted at a possible new world based on the Sophie the Swamp Witch, which we first saw as a trading card in the Lost Desert Expansion Set for the Neopets Trading Card Game.

We now know that the name of this new location is Bogshot, not "Sophie's Swamp," and we also know that it's located somewhere near the outskirts of Meridell, and is rumored to be a mini-world.

Bogshot Village is north of the Kingdom of Brightvale and east of the Crossroads (the place where the paths to the Kingdoms of Meridell and Brightvale meet). It is a village that lies on the edge of a vast swampland. Other than the end of Meridell's borders, there is nothing to the north or east of this lonely, misty, village.

Although this is a confirmed world in the Neopets: The Darkest Faerie video and as a Mini-World in the Neopets Magazine, its release date is unknown. However, A lot of Sophie themed stuff has appeared and since she lives in Bogshot it could be assumed that it will also be released

Here is a list of shops in Bogshot Village:

Grimnar's Swordsmiths: This shop is owned by Grimnar, a famous Skeith blacksmith that specializes in custom-made swords.
Curious Curios: This shop is owned by Brigson the Scorchio, who travels the world collecting trinkets and baubles. You can find rare Neggs, powerful magic potions, and even maps to buried treasure in his shop.
Sunnyfields: Primrose and her three small daughters, Whitney, Chelsie and Lexa run this quaint little fruit shop at the edge of the swamp. Juppies, ergyfruit, bagguss and Neggs can be found among their delicious fruit selection.
Brendel & Sons Bridge Repair Service: This shop is owned by Brendel the Skeith who actually has no sons.
Rumor has it that with the introduction of Bogshot village, the Neopets staff is drawing up three new neopets: the kralukar (a raccoon-ish looking sort), the gurp (which is similar to a slug) and the pongin (a penguin). Many users are anticipating these introductions

wow, that was really really helpful. Thanks alot! I knew I had seen her somewhere, the game! Haha xP Thanks again =)

EDIT:
but one more question, what do you guys think is the significance of the change in status from young Sophie as a Hero on the TCG cards to Villain when she becomes "Sophie the Swamp Witch"? Isn't that a bit contradictory to what you guys have been saying about how she's a good guy?
