I've never been avidly active in wars but wasn't there a group effort in one of the Meridell wars? I think everyone had to fight the same opponent and as more people fought, the enemy's overall difficulty went down. ??? Like I said, I could be 100% wrong but it'd be cool if that's how it worked.

Everybody fights him, which gradually withers down his HP (you can't beat him on the first try and you'll loose after one turn.) Over time he well be down to low enough HP that someone (usually a highly ranked Battledomer) will get the final hit and defeat him.

How handy that we have a wicked bad new plot-related challenger and that because of Neopets' birthday we get free training.

I can't even beat the Spirit of the Ruins, let alone put a dent in Razul. :cry:

Can someone please share the difference between training on krawk island and mystery island? What is the difference between the 2 schools?

Training on krawk island is often cheaper (dubloons are less than codestones) but it takes longer per course. Also you can only train on krawk island up to level 40 :S

well I just challenged Razul with a 10 hp pet and he took 239 hp from me on the first hit! is there anyone actually powerful enough to beat him as he is?

The krawk one you pay in dubloons rather than codestones (which are used at mystery isle) - the dubloons can work out cheaper in lower levels.
The krawk can only train up to level 40.
The krawk takes longer per training session (about 1 hour per level longer).

Edit: Is there any way to confirm Razul is a Community opponent? Although it seems pointless any one person taking him on if he isn't! I don't understand why he's still shown as difficulty 100000 doesn't this reduce as people take points off him?

I'd kill for free training at the other schools. Only one of my main account pets can go to the academy, and that's merely because she's a low level lab rat. It's not like I'd even be able to earn as many stat points as lower level pets because of the increased training time. *sighs*

Anyway, I haven't seen any change in his hitpoints or difficulty. I managed to survive two rounds by reflecting his dark damage, whee! I wonder if there's some sort of item we need to weaken him. We were able to capture part of the spirit with that jar, maybe there's something out there we need to find to put out his burninating flames? *tosses a can of neocola at him*

How do I find out his hitpoints?
