I can't understand why everyone is complaining about that $8, I'm a poor student and I don't think it is that much.. $8 here is a meal at McDonalds, and I would happily spend that money on supporting Neopets rather then eating junk food or stuff like that. And if you sign up for a full year it's even less. 
You have to think about that a place like Neopets isn't cheap to run and they have to get money somehow. If you wait a week or so I don't think you'll even notice the banner anymore. I think you're complaining a bit too much about everything new here

Just had a thought.... I wonder if being a premium user gives you special consideration for situations where you might be frozen?
There have been many innocent people get iced by TNT, imagine paying 8bucks a/month & then having your acct frozen. Legally or whatever if you are paying for something CAN they ice you?
Also is the @neomail pass* different than your Neopets one or is it all tied together? Meaning if someone hacks your acct do they then have access to your @neomail too?
