There is nothing wrong with that. I love my pets too. The nice thing about Neopets is it allows you to have a "pet" in the absence of having one in real life. I know alot of people who can't have pets because of where they live or cost of upkeep. The plus side of it for kids is you dont have to worry about if they forget to feed them or take them for walks, the pet isnt "neglected"

Oh I agree with shinigamisrevenge...I love my pets too! And my best friend can't have a pet in real life - her landlord won't allow it. So she keeps on going just for her pets. She only plays like 2 or 3 times a week, and I'll tell you, I think she enjoys it more than I do. She doesn't get to see/experience the same amount of glitches, etc.

My suggestion? Just put your pets in the lodge for the full time, check in every now and then, get your bank interest (if nothing else, the interest will help keep your pets in the lodge) and give yourself a break. Don't give everything away. I've seen it happen too often. People do quit, self-freeze and then a couple months or so later really regret it. And most of them say what they miss the most IS their pets!

I can completley understand how you feel. It's far too easy to become over-addicted to neopets. Sometimes I feel incomplete if I miss out on something because I couldn't get online. I'm just glad to say I'm not fully sucked in... Yet? :o

Anyway. I know you won't stay away from Neopets completley. But play it as intended. For the pets! :D

Starting new is fun.

I had about 10 million, and I gave it all away to my friends. I bought them whatever they wanted. :D

I can see why a lot of people get frustrated or bored with Neopets.

I myself quit playing for about 6 months, because I got frustrated at never being able to grab any of the high-end items to sell, and I'm not very good at most of the games.

But I didn't close my account or give away my NPs or anything; I just decided one day that I didn't feel like logging on, and the next thing I knew, it was almost 6 months later when I actually felt like logging on.

Maybe one of these days, I'll just decide to quit and give everything away. But considering its taken me almost 4 years (minus those 5 to 6 months I took a break from Neopets) to get to almost 3 million NP, I don't think I'd ever give away everything just to start over again....

look at it from this perspective, if Neopets ever decides to close it's doors, if the people in power decide that it's no longer viable to keep it up, your 4 years of work will disappear with the push of a delete button.

Azzie, I admire you for having the guts to look inside yourself and deciding to change a behavior that's holding you back. If you're not having fun, it is definitely time to step back and take a breather.

I've been playing for almost 4 years now, and lately I've been kind of in the same boat as you. I play my obligatory 15,000 NPs worth of games every day so that I can buy my 1000 shares of stock every day. I've got a great bank account, but hardly spend it on anything, except training my pet and going on the occasional spending spree for stamps. What I've been doing this past week is concentrating on different areas of Neopets than NP-earning activities. It seems to be helping. I've been designing my NeoHome and trying to come up with some article ideas for the Neopian Times.

As far as giving items to deserving people, there ARE some players on the Help boards who really do try to help others out. When I want to give away something neat, usually around Christmas time, I go to the Help Boards and look at messages from people requesting Shop Wiz lookups for Quest items. The people who respond to those players with the requested information find themselves receiving a little gift from me. I also send them a NeoMail, telling them why a stranger has sent them a present.

Good luck, and if you need anything, just holler. :)

Looking to buy Snowbunny Stamp and Sticky Snowflake Stamp. If you're selling, please PM me!

I understand about the money tree. It's pretty unfair really. I'm on cable and can still not get a thing from it. Plus I'd probably get a dung. So I don't bother trying when I started again.

Just give your stuff to people you know maybe? I would give all mine (well what I've recently made since my main got iced) to my friends. Maybe also some of the nice people who helped me to get some avatars.

If you have a cheap buzz tranz going I'll buy it btw :D

Definately keep your account open though. Since you might want to play games a bit now and then. I know I would. It's a good passtime during breaks at work.

i was not tired of neopets, what i was tired of was the urge to have my bank account grow bigger and bigger and be unhappy when i didnt have a chance to gain more items or nps.

sorry, i don't have a potion, the most expensive thing in my account is my faerie pb, otherwise it's more of advent items and other stuff.

btw, i didnt do the dailies today, not even the lab ray. :D

Hehe, thats ok. I'm just a cheapskate. I have managed to make over 100k back again. I just can't be botherd paying 80k just to make my buzz a mutie again. Rather get codestones untill I find someone selling it way cheap for some unknown reason. Since it happens!

I think not doing dailys is a good start!
I'm starting to use the lab ray in my other accounts less since I got an alien aisha. Since I give the pets away usually anyway... :/ I was only labbing for avs and I got a grey yurble out of it. But that was just after they iced me :( So I can't even be botherd starting on a grundo or a quiggle yet...

Faerie PBs are pretty, you should be proud of that accomplishment ;)
