cqb1 says 'Oh you damn selket!'...

Selkey stomps up and down on the ground
damn is practically the same as 'stupid' or such...
cqb1 says 'a-word-like-you-know-what'...

Selkey says 'Oi! Dont swear! This site is family friendly.'

No one is blaming the entire team. However, if a staff member is not monitoring properly, then not only is he or she to blame but, someone above him or her is also to blame. After all, one would think that the monitors have supervisors and that the supervisors review the work of those that they are in charge of. And, that same supervisor would communicate to each and every monitor what the correct procedure is.

It is also fairly apparent from the numerous freezings and warnings that I have come across, both on PPT and in my own family, that some of the monitors do not read the actual posts before issuing a freezing or warning. Why are these monitors being allowed to do this? And, if this is incorrect procedure, why isn't a supervisor reviewing this monitor's actions and reversing the incorrect warnings/freezings? And doing the reversing before the innocent user becomes an emotional basketcase because they have lost the account they worked so hard on? And doing so before that poor person has to spend countless hours writing an email in the hopes of getting his/her account back?

I have a problem with the fact that Neopets does not appear to take any action to correct a "misguided" monitors actions until they receive a frozen report or email from the user. Is that really fair?

good point sierra, the actions of individual employees of a company reflect on the entire company, whether they are good or bad. If an AOL staff member gave me hell on the telephone, I'd see it as a reflection of the poor attitude of the whole company, because that's who they're representing when dealing with the public. It's not always rational, I know, its just human nature.

Anyway, I do agree with morning star that monitors should verify for themselves what reporters are accusing people of before issuing warnings/freezings, but then I also understand that isn't always pratical. Hmm..

I think what shroomy means is the constant referrals to TNT. Sure, a staff member reflects a company, but the term 'TNT' is so widely used (and so wrongly used) that it has no real meaning anymore, referring to just about everything as TNT.

I think morningstar should work for TNT. Or perhaps make a petition that actually makes sense (like her posts). That's one petition that might get listened to. :)

Do you guys know what "damn" means? I think you've heard it one too many times and have become desensitized to it. Anyway, I've taken the liberty of looking it up for you:

Main Entry: 1damn
Pronunciation: 'dam
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): damned; damnĀ·ing /'da-mi[ng]/
Etymology: Middle English dampnen, from Old French dampner, from Latin damnare, from damnum damage, loss, fine
transitive senses
1 : to condemn to a punishment or fate; especially : to condemn to hell
2 a : to condemn vigorously and often irascibly for some real or fancied fault or defect <damned the storm for their delay> b : to condemn as a failure by public criticism
3 : to bring ruin on
4 : to swear at : CURSE -- often used to express annoyance, disgust, or surprise

also known as: just a word, of no harm to anybody.

god, i hate stupid forms of censorship. well, all forms really, but freezing for "damn" is just damn stupid.

Well at least TNT sounds a little more polite than ENT, lol. I know that I use TNT when I want to differentiate between Neopets as a website and Neopets as monitors and staff. I suppose we could say "Neopets monitor", but it is rather tedious to type out. An example: if I get wrongly frozen, I'm not going to say, "I've been frozen by Neopets." What does that mean? That my little furry neopet friend froze me? That a cute little neopet used an ice weapon against me in the battledome? That my computer froze up when I clicked on neopets.com? Since all the warnings come from The Neopets Team, I choose to say that I've been warned by TNT. If the warning came from a separate individual, then I would call that person by name, and not by TNT.

I don't blame you, you have a reason for not liking it. Just don't report people on Neopets who say it. :P

I'm turning 13 in less than a month, and in my mind, that's the legal age to swear. XD

Perhaps a new acronym to refer to those we presume are responsible for the slings and arrows of grave misfortune?

Why not try NPM (for Neopets Monitors) or NPS (for Security)?

That way, we can protect the honor of folks like Shroomy and other staffers who really have nothing to do with whether or not our accounts were frozen (other than to draw Peter, the Security Chia).

I do wish that he was a battle dome challenger!!! It's not fair!!! But yeah, it's not the artists' fault, nor the poor coders who do the games..

You are kidding, right?

The hitting on part, I'm not. As for the old sweaty man part... well, that was a logical assumption on my part.

(And thus the trap is set. Anyone who replies to this and shoots it down will either be labeled a) One of those annoying people who always looks for a significant other on the boards or b) A sweaty old man)

Waiver: I mean no offense if I have offended any sweaty old men in this post.

I like NPM :) That is better than saying that the whole team is bad, or doing something wrong.

Gee! That's nice of you to say. *blushes profusely*

But, I have a great job here in Chicago. And, too many roots growing to make the move to California (besides, I would miss the snow--well, at least that first snow).

How about NeoPol -- Neopet Police, or TNM -- The Neopets Monitors
