This game is broken. The site lag makes the visual display delayed; I've lost 3 games now due to lag. In the last one, the lag was so terrible that I would get hit by a scoop halfway up the game without ever even seeing it appear at the bottom. How the heck am I supposed to avoid invisible scoops? Get your act together, JS.

I am playing at the moment, I use FF, and have no lag or problems, Siniri. Could it be something your end? Is your Flash Player up to date, do you have enough RAM (this is an issue for me), or maybe can you clean your RAM. Have you used a different browser and see if that helps.

I know we have had bad lag and site issues recently, but I don't think it is an issue at the moment (unless it is a geographical issue).

Best of luck!

I'm fairly certain it is a site issue, because it was better earlier this morning (when fewer people were on). I'm on my less powerful laptop (the better one's wireless card isn't strong enough to pick up a good signal), but it should be plenty good enough. I'm cleaning up my computer now, just in case, but the games should run smoothly on any modern machine. It might be an issue with playing on WiFi, but WiFi is all I have, and it should work fine on a good WiFi connection (I have a strong signal on a very fast network). The only site I ever have issues with is Neo, and that only started when DD did -- and it's only at higher-volume times, too.

This laptop came with some random crap from the manufacturer that I can't seem to disable, so I'm going to try to put it on battery stretch mode and see if that prevents anything random running in the background, but the visual lag on Ice Cream Machine is something I've experienced on several different machines, different browsers, and both WiFi and wired connections. I switched to Chrome because I had more issues on Firefox in the past.

Wow. 8000?. My highest is 7265. AAA's scores went from ridiculously easy to not so easy. Today might be the day I decide to bag it and settle for the silver trophy. I will at least give it a go sometime today. Hopefully tomorrow is more reasonable because I will not have much time.

I changed some of my display settings (changing color from 32-bit to 16-bit and ensuring optimum display instead of saving energy, though I'm not running off the battery, so I don't think either should matter). The game is better now, though there's no way to know if JS made a change on their end in the meantime or not (they did pretty quickly last time there were issues with a game). Of course, I had over 7700 and managed to lose both lives quickly, ending at 7955. My hand gets twitchy after a while, and I need more breaks more quickly. This game would be much improved if you had to click to start again when you died in the middle of a round, instead of it making you go right away again with no break.

It doesn't help that I'm left-handed and have to play this with my non-dominant hand...

Edit: Spoke too soon. It's still intermittently glitchy. *sigh*

Here are some tricks that might help you get to 8k (they're a little different than the avvie-seeking hints): Get all the purple and red power-ups you can. The round doesn't stop giving you scoops until the last scoop for that round crosses the top, so by slowing it down, you can get a few more extra scoops. Besides, slowing down in the intermediate rounds allows you to practice the precise hand movements needed for a tricky escape (e.g., down, over one scoop, up, over one scoop, down and back to the previous scoop level). Just don't slow it down so much that the beginning of the next round freaks you out. Don't sacrifice a life for a power-up; it's not worth it. Get the fishes and cherries when you can, but remember you'll lose your smallness and decreased speed if you do (the same goes for shields; I ignore them if I'm already microscopic, unless it will last to the end of the round... this is true even for an extra life, in later rounds. No sense getting one extra life if you're going to lose 2-3 that round by losing being small!). Take a break between rounds to stretch your hand; after you stretch, warm up your hand again doing pretend game movements. Last, try to stay near the middle of the screen. Sometimes your only escape will be up and around, and that's easier to do if you're in the middle. Last-last, ignore the score. Just focus on reaching the end of the round. Your goal should be to make it as far as you can in the double-chocolate round.

Oh, and the "Fish heads" song is a nice slow song to help you calm down when you start to get jittery.

ETA: And success! 8150. I'll take it. Good luck, Daze and Blue! (Pickles is a rockstar at this game, so she doesn't need the luck... She'll hopefully stop by with more tips.)

Thanks for the tips Siniri. The one about getting extra scoops is one I didn't think about before.

I might not get AAA's score today, so will miss out of the day and date prize (luckily it isn't worth a lot, so I bought one), so I will continue to try for AAA and the gold trophy.

This is one of my old WC games, before I stopped having time for WC, so I got over AAA's score on my first try. It's been on my list to attempt to upgrade to gold, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I went digging through old threads, because I thought I'd put up tips before, and sure enough, I had:

Tips:
Scoops with toppings give you 10 pts instead of 5pts.
Definitely use the cheat code for an extra life in between levels. (strawberryvanillachocolate)
Stay to the middle of the screen.
You can stay directly above one column and wait until a scoop shows up there to move over a column and then back. This prevents you from having to worry about following tooo many columns at once.
If you see a strawberry bomb on the screen, and you have nothing but plain scoops, use it. Just be careful not to use it at the tail end of the level, as you'll lose the extra scoops.
As for slowdowns and speed ups: On later levels (7+), ONE, and ONLY ONE slow down can be helpful. Any more than that, and you'll run into massive scoop walls. Just keep in mind: size and speed resets to the level default whenever you get a point bonus, life, strawberry bomb, or scoop shield.
Scoops shields are wonderful, but continue to dodge scoops while you have it: this way when it runs out, you're not on top of a scoop!
If you can manage it, collect every bonus (good or bad) in the first 3-4 levels. The more you collect, the more other scoops it will release to make sure you get enough for the level, and thus the more chances of getting a point or life bonus.
Oh, and turn the music off! It's cute and all, but you'll do SO much better if you have silence to work in!

DO NOT RIGHT CLICK!!! (this causes immediate end of game!)

I personally don't leave the first level unless it meets one of these conditions: 1) Gives me an extra life and/or 2)My score is over 200 (whether it be by topping scoops or bonuses)

General scores by level:
Beginning level 5 (Blueberry): around 1800-2000
Beginning level 7 (Strawberry Vanilla Chocolate): around 3750-4000
Beginning level 9 (Vanilla Chocolate Swirl): around 6200

ETA: Don't think I knew this one at the time, but if you're about to die and you know it, don't panic and try to get out of it. If you hit 2 scoops at the same time, you will lose 2 lives. Seriously.

Even though my top score is only 7,265, I went ahead and challenged AAA. Maybe I will get it today, maybe not. I have not yet tried. Like Daze, I'm going for gold this year, even if I don't get the every day day-of prize. Tomorrow will likely be impossible to play because I am heading to Mexico for the workday (plus about 5 hours of drive time)...

Best of luck Blue!

AAA 2750 for Snow Roller. I should be able to do this, I only need around 400 points over my best score.

ETA: Got it 2788.

Good luck, Blue! You're really close, so hopefully you'll get it quickly. Safe trip today. At least you're only missing an easy challenge.

My high score was 4200-something, and I remembered that when I played it for a GMC or something, I couldn't get nearly that, so I decided to play a practice round first before challenging AAA. I played it lying in bed, not really trying very hard, and somehow got 4900-something. Went ahead and challenged AAA before sending, and it took the score, so that's handy to know you can do that.

(I think I did so well because it plays slower on this computer. This is one of the games where lag is an advantage...)

Bah. Couldn't get the scoops score and I'm out of practice on the snowroller. In the 5 minutes I have this morning before I head out, I only managed 2048 on snowroller. Ah well, maybe I will have time to do both of these tonight.

This one just takes time. If you hold the "up" arrow, and don't hit any of the black slushies or skid spots, it keeps the game slower and more manageable. :)

I took the day and date prize instead of the speed boost again.

750 for AAA on Bumble Beams. I actually made it to a new level today. Made the score easily.

Day and Date prize is a petpet.

I like having wearables but I am surprised that all the clothes have been "girly". I would like to see more variety. More unisex shirts and trousers or shoes.

I made the score easily, too (I actually like this game), but it does take a little while to play up to 750. I played before work and had to cut it off at 792 to get my prizes, though I did lose out on some NP. At that NP/time ratio, though, it's not really much of a loss!

There are only a few things you can do to cut down on time: 1) Land the robots in the bins exactly to get twice the score. 2) You don't have to use all the beams; you can drop robots off the topmost beams as long as you let them fall slowly and you have good timing (they can even land slightly off screen and still give you credit, but not too much offscreen). 3) Place the robots in baskets in a similar order (every other one, every third one, whatever works for you); this way you're not ever waiting for too many full baskets to pass. 4) If you've already beaten a level, and you're having to wait for a lot of full baskets to pass, die and move on to the next level instead of waiting. (If you're just looking to beat AAA as fast and possible... Hopefully you won't ever need this one because you've followed 3.)
