Pound will be up on Monday...or not

Am I the only one who thinks that tomorrow everything may go down just like during the recent free NC giveway? I mean, there's going to be HOARDS of players swarming the pound...

Also: if you for example manage to adopt a halloween ruki without all the clothes, do you still get the avatar? There's a couple of avvies like this, halloween lupe, island quiggle etc. They should work without the clothes, right?

The Pound will most likely crash at 12 am NST, even if it isn't put up

BEWARE: Rant about the Pound below:

When TNT closed the Pound, many players quit and abandoned their super strong pets, and there are many 700 boost pets in the Pound. When the Pound is released, all those pets will probably go to rich people with strong pets or total nubs who have no idea what they are doing These people are getting, essentially, free pets whereas I am paying tens of millions to train my pet. I consider this extremely annoying and frustrating because they are not doing any "work" and are still getting strong pets. I suppose if I had the name of a strong pet, I would not feel this way, but I don't, so I am extremely mad.

Basically you are saying if you can't have one, then no-one can, which basically goes against your rant as such.

I understand frustration, I hate people finding 'good' pets and pretending that they did something special. Really everyone knows painted pets are a dime a dozen, whereas highly trained pets are rarely seen, so if you were lucky enough to find one, that good on you.

But there is nothing wrong with any one (even nubs, as you put it) getting a good pet. They might not know it is a good pet, but I would prefer that, then it going to someone who wants to get out of paying millions in training and feels special for doing so.

All said and done, that is what the pound is there for. If anyone chooses (for what ever reason) to abandon a pet, then it is not TNT's job to see it goes to a 'deserving' person.

If users decided that they could not play Neo just because the pound was down and then abandoned such highly trained pets, then that is no-one's fault but their own. If these people just left the pets on the account and self-froze then no-one else could have got them.

I am still training my pet and even if I saw a pet with better stats, I would not adopt it - my pet is special and I could not see myself using any other to battle with.

The way I see it, you have to be happy with your own actions and intent and make the best of the situation.

All in all, though, I think TNT did a decent job of dealing with the issues customization introduced.

It seems that TNT are clearing certain pets out of the pound.

Maybe high level and/or customisable pets are being deleted. There are a few boards about it.

I wonder if this is true? I've looked up a few pets that are still there, but are not rare colors, just rare species. I can't get them anyway, because I have four pets, but I am interested to see who they go to, and hope they get a good home, not some bot account where they sit and rot.

I think I understand the logic behind it, but that doesn't make me any more happy about it. Didn't a number of users lose their pets while attempting to transfer them between accounts, only to discover too late that the pound was down? If one of my pets were stuck in there, and I'd been waiting a year for the chance to retrieve it, only for TNT decided to delete it to help ease the server load before the pound reopened (or whatever their excuse is), I'd be furious.

(This is all assuming this is true, of course.)

I though of something similar - all the 'top end' pets are taken out and then released slowly, a few at a time.

Also, customised pets must have their clothes removed when pounded. TNT would need to adopt, then re-pound those pets.

Hopefully, TNT will release the painted/strong pets a few at a time to stop mad rushing to the Pound.

Neopets has completely shut down for me. I was logged on, browsing the Neoboards, and now all I get is a "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at http://www.neopets.com. message when I try to access any part of the site. Perhaps a sign of things to open within the next few minutes?

That makes the most sense to me. I can't imagine that TNT is willing to deal with the backlash of thousands of users if they actually delete high stat and painted pets.

Most likely not yet...lol There'd have been a bunch of "OMG THE POUNDS BACK" boards in the neoboards first, then it'd crash. It's more likely they're getting it put up now/soon.
