Mine doesn't either...at least not that I've noticed. I'm trying to block out pretty much everything on the sides. It's way too distracting. :P

Sorry to go a little bit offtopic, but just in case anyone missed it on the bill board, I've got some free trades going with mostly furniture. Bid a half a glowing jelly if you're interesed. (mileena_z) I can't take any of it with me, so someone else might as well enjoy it.

I keep reading that editorial and shaking my head at what we're forced to believe.

Since more or less, Neopets is considered a MMO ... for a company that is big as Viacom, I would think they would be able to considerably learn from the mistakes that other companies have made towards their long time users of MMOs (such as the case of Sony and the Star Wars Galaxies exodus in late 2005.)

That sounds frighteningly familiar, Rune. :(
Someone hasn't been doing research on the player-retention end of Neopets, perhaps?

Wow. I find it extremely angry how Neopets has sort of transfered everything we used to know and love about Neopets into stuff for litte kids. This dosent help Neopets and Viacom's case at all. If I hadn't quit Neopets before, I'd certainly have quit over this, the customization, and all this crap thats going on **rollseyes**

Ever get the feeling that this might have been done on purpose--to get us to leave. After all, if you think about it, those of us who are older (meaning mid-teens and up) and who have been around awhile have most likely mastered the game and amassed lots of nps, items, painted pets and/or become quite skilled battlers with expensive weapons. We have learned how to make nps, by restocking, stock market, sniping, malling, etc. So, my guess is that we intimidate and frustrate the new kids coming to play. I know that I get neomails all of the time from new players (mainly kids) asking me to give them a negg or lower my snorkle snout to 800 nps. lol. Some write and say that they are jealous of my painted pets/shop/gallery. Because we have been around so long and mastered the game so well, we've created a lopsided distribution of wealth. So, what better way to get us "wealthy" older players to quit and more fairly even out the wealth of the remaining players than to do something like this--take away all of the things we older/long term players loved about the game and replace it with loud, garish graphics, teeny tiny print, and babyish pets. Just a thought.

Well if they want to make things easy for newbies, then maybe all the games will start paying out more, and stuff will cost 1np in the shops.

Still not used to the new layout .. I think it is horrible. I've been playing for about five years now and I'm positively livid about the new look of the site. I'm really tempted to quit except I have a lot of time put into the game. I think I am most mad about my userlookup. I finally made a flippin awesome one and *poof* now I have to re-code everything.

There needed to be an option or poll or something to let the players know what was going down cause switching everything up like this is just plain rude.

Yes, I not only had that thought, but also thought "If I can stand to stay, there will just be fewer people richer and more powerful than myself. Although that's a big if..."

It's not going to even anything out because the some of the seriously hardcore players won't leave. So the few rich will stay rich, and the "new kids" will have to pay just as much for things in my shop as they would have if a bunch of my colleagues had stayed.

And if they want to affect lower prices in the market, so much the better for me!

If... I can stand to stay. Still deciding and changing all my dream pet goals slowly. o_O :(

Neopia Central and the Lost Desert have been down for me all day. Hard to believe that this isn't a side effect of the changes.

They've been down for me too. I kept thinking that it was due to my computer (I have adblocked a lot of stuff). Glad to hear it isn't just me.

Im just sick and tired of these so called pet "revamps." No one likes them .. we are all complaining so obviously the Neopets team is wasting their time on these "revamps."

Why not put your time and artwork into a plot people can appreciate instead of doing a site overhaul that has people complaining about.
