A friend of mine on dialup couldn't get anything last night, and things are still zipping out of shops at extremely fast rates. It's hard to say yet if it will be easier. It does seem entirely possible that if you're in the right shop at the right second, you might be alone in there for a short bit and snag something really good on dialup. It just seems too early to tell, especially since there is so much buzz that everyone and their brother is checking out the shops now.

Cranberry wrote:Raza, shops used to stock by number (in the url). Food restocked first, at about 1-3 seconds after the minute, and then all shops restocked after that, in order, throughout that minute (so early-numbered shops at 2:01:01, middle shops at 2:01:16, and later shops at 2:01:35 or whatever -- times are approximate, but you get the idea). When food restocked, you knew other shops would follow, so you could be prepared.

Now any shop can restock at any time, and not all shops restock in the same minute (so food can rs at 2:01:16, and stamp at 2:03:50, and geraptiku petpets at 2:09:03, for example). So no more "guide shops," and no more approximate times, which means now you will have to refresh every 2-5 seconds so you don't miss a stock. Now it's going to be very hard to restock.

Oh, lol. Well, I didn't know that, so I wasn't using it, so if others were I'm certainly not going to miss it either. Sounds fair to me, I always refreshed all the time and I still make major NP when I can be arsed.

I sort of get the hang of this but wont this just encourage more refreshing therefore more restock bans? because its all random now right?

Terrific. Now everybody will get a chance to be as poor as me. Mwahahahaha.

I don't think this is TNT's way of trying to tackle inflation. It's just giving a broader number of people a chance at getting a piece of the pie.

Seriously, I don't see how this is helping people with slower connection. Even me that's travelling fast, when I stumble into a restock, the items goes fast, it's like stocking during the weekends, except it's worse.

so what is the best shop we can restock after this?
i am bored of space station :/

The garage sale seems to be restocking more often. Then again, things are going faster there since more people are shop banned.

The igloo was restocking almost every minute (every 2-3, at least), but they seem to have "fixed" it, unfortunately. I had one very good night there where I picked up a ton of stuff in less than two hours. ;)

My thoughts on the new system... I am quite annoyed by it but I guess it's a fair thing. At least this happened after I decided to stop restocking so much...lol

After playing around with the new RS system for a few days... I'm loving this. I'm actually SEEING restocks for once and have even managed to get things.

Before, since everyone knew when the shops restocked, I was lucky if I caught any items in a shop, let alone got anything. I'm not getting the super great items since I'm still getting back into RSing (I haven't RSed in... man, 3 years) but I'm making a more NP than I did before. :D

Shop of Mystery is rsing like mad...

yeah!

I agree, Nefasturris. I actually saw morphing potions and good medicinal items (although I was too slow to get them).

Never happened to me before!

And I despise oh so despise the shop of mystery.

Erm... it wasn't difficult to find restocks. They began exactly on the minute and went through the shops in order of shop ID number, so all you had to do was check the Food shop at the beginning of each minute. That allowed you to do other things while waiting for restocks.

ermm.... sorry, but what exactly is an RS ban, and how does one get banned?[/i]

The whole point of this thread was to gripe about the fact that things have changed so restocking doesn't work like that anymore. :P
