I've just bought myself an alabriss, I've probably payed like ten times as much as it will be worth in a couple of days, but I thought it was really cute and, who knows, maybe I'll be able to win the PPL with it, it was my goal to get a newly released petpet to be able to get a shot at the PPL trophy ever since I've lost my previous one to thet petpet ray, since trophies are one of my other great loves <3

Every time I look at King Altador I think his voice sounds like Sean Connery.

Altador is Atlantis 0_o

(In that it bears a striking semblance to the Atlantis in Age Of Mythology)

I like the names. "Illustrious Armoury," "Exquisite Ambrosia"--they sound so classy and intelligent. And the art looks nice: simple, but it's only the first map released. They have to leave space to dig Altador's general image out.

Forget the toga PB, I want a mythology PB. Not necessarily gods and goddesses, but for instance the Korbat could be modeled after Icarus. Maybe unrealistic, but a cool idea.

Hrm...Setekh, you might be onto something. After all, switch the L and T, and Altador becomes ATLAdor(like ATLAntis). I know that's a stretch, but consider also:
1. Altador is outside of time, kind of like Atlantis, which had already been a fine city by the dawn of other civilizations.
2. The DF statue has to get to the bottom of the ocean SOMEhow....

 YES! YES! I have to agree. As King Arthur in First Knight. I can see King Altador saying

"This... will be my last official command as your king.... I command you to............FIGHT!!!!!!!!"

Random observations:

1) It looks like we can look forward to another potion shop, and probably a fruit or vegetable shop, given the shapes of a couple of buildings in the bottom quarter of the city.

2) The url for the archivist's office includes archivist=1 as a parameter, which suggests that there will be multiple variations on the office. Maybe he'll give quests of some kind--something like the Brain Tree, perhaps. Every other value I tried led me back to the entryway.

3) The roped-off door in the Archives appears to lead to the stacks, judging by the sign. Anubic-Toxicology-Report-ophobes live in fear of the rope coming down.

4) There appear to be two colisseums, but no amphitheatre, which strikes me as odd.

You're probably thinking of Sean Connery playing King Agamemnon in Time Bandits. If ANYONE else knows what I'm talking about, congratulations.

I do, I do! That association made me laugh.

I wonder if we're going to hear more about these "two brave neopets" that stumbled across Altador... o_O

Most likely Tor and Rosmerta, or whatever their names are.

Often "?parameter=1" is used as a true/false sort of thing, with only 0 and 1 as options (and adding it with 0 for a value being redudant). I've played around a bit with it too, but I'd judge it more likely for other pages to be found through different parameters with value 1, than under archivist with other values.

I'm thinking the other door in the archive might be timed, or possible lead to a new game or quest area. It's got a purple velvet rope across it and of course, purple velvet ropes are inviolate, by even the strongest forces in the universe.

Time bandits, heh.

Lisa Simpson: 'Dad, you can't go there it is behind a velvet rope. Velvet rope.'

The more I think about it the more a quest sounds possible. What with the two doors, liek they give you a quest in one and you go search the library for answers in the other. Maybe it'll be like the *rolls eyes*

...LDP scroll repository.
*mad giggle*

Just the "Do you have some scholarly business here? No? " line makes me think that. Like, there's a pretty good chance you might actually find yourself in the library of Alexandria on some scholarly business.

We watched that movie in Geography class for some reason, then had to write a reflection on the fight between good and evil in the movie. It didn't seem historically based AT ALL, but the midgets were funny.
