Yeah, I'm tghinking that since it has "X" in it it probably is...well...for X-rated pop ups and stuff.

br00ster - Active X is something that many legit programs use - like a/v, spyware detector/removers, spywareblaster, even shockwave and flash. However, many bad spywares also use Active X to try to download stuff on your computer without your permission or knowledge. Stuff like toolbars showing up out of nowhere, getting bizarre pop up ads, having your homepage changed to something else - and you can't get it to go back to what you want it (hijacker). That's why I'm so upset about getting that Active X thing on Neo.

I don't know, I think they may have pulled the roach ad *still shudders and stands on a chair like a little girlygirl* and the Loony Toons - at least I haven't seen either in at least the past hour or so. Last night I swear to you, I got the roach ad every single page I went to! I had to log out, couldn't take it.

sigh..... half the banner ads these days are shoot/hit/catch the random object and get a free electronic thing.

and it NEVER gives you a free electronic thing.

Please do not swallow the mattresses.

Perhaps there are staff members lurking here because I haven't seen that ad since this morning. I had finally gotten used to it--so that everytime I saw that bug out of the corner of my eye, I didn't jump.

But, I am still getting the ToonTown one.

I just got creeped out--big time. There is a banner ad that has a very realistic large cockroach running around it. Ugh, I get goosepimples just thinking of it. It is for the iPod. "Hit the bug" and you win an iPod.

Grrr! :o

Don't get me wrong. I can handle almost all of the ads. Wall Street Journal, people asking me if I need a doctor, WeightWatchers (as I am putting a doughnut to my lips), etc. But a realistic bug running across my screen. Eeek!

You should try coming to Singapore, they had, get this, a big cockroach picture posted on several double decker buses..it was an advert for a bug repellent but i for one hate it..who wants to see a smurfin bug on the bus that too blown up to a giant size.

That is because most people cannot resist the temptation of really trying to hit it, since it is quite fun. :P
