What I can't seem to find out at the Premium site is whether the portal and toolbar work in all browsers, or just Internet Explorer. Does anyone know the system requirements??? o_O

The toolbar is the "standard" IE only toolbar and the portal is a web-based page so it doesn't matter what browser you use.

So, you can only have it on one account?

I was just told by a friend that you could have it for more than one account and still only pay $8 a month. Hmm. If this is true, maybe in a couple months (after our Christmas spending ;) ) we'll consider getting it. It would be nice if there were more advantages, though.

Personally, if neopets is to be down for maintenance now, I will just rant a bit and run off to do other stuffs.

If I will to pay $8 per month, I will be screaming my head off if I see that red pteri. Furthermore, US$8 per month is $12.80 for me and that will be $153.60 per year. I must be crazy to invest so much in a stupid online game.

i used to be glad i signed up for premium but now im not so sure. i might cancel it. the only benefits i've seen are the scratch cards every week. i dont even get special RE's, aside from an email saying i won 300 np in the lotto. big deal. even though i pay, i still see the ads and the stupid pteri when it's down. firefox is the only thing that blocks my ads. i am going to give it to the end of the year and then i'll decide whether to cancel or not.

EDIT: now the banner ads AREN'T showing up for me, maybe it's coz of the new banner thing. BUT that could also be due to my adblock, so who knows

vinyl, from what I've been reading, I think? if the page is all the way up at the top then it's your Premium making the ads completely go away. If you've got a large white space then it's the ad-blocker.

Thank you for the info that you would have to d/l the toolbar to use it. That means I wouldn't have to YAY! If the portal is good for multiple accounts, then that's also a plus, not that I go on my other account that much or for that long. For me? If I had to pay, all I'd want is the portal, and I'd still probably just put it in favorites and keep my current homepage in my internet settings (I know I'm weird - I'm also old and set in my ways) ;) I'm trying to picture the looks on my friends' faces if I emailed with an @ neomail .com address.

personally I think they should have an option where people can outright pay something to be ad-free. So much for a single account, so much for multiple accounts and a "package" fee for multi accounts on the same computer (families, roommates, etc.). That would, I know, defeat the "site will always be free" policy, but I think the Premium already does defeat that. Just my two cents ...

I love being a premium member.

Especially with the dolalr being as worthless as it is so I aint paying 8 I am paying less *S* I would love to see more things added but no banners that nic eportal all the random email events I get the webmail it is really nice and it helps my neofriends reach me easier then having to give out my real address

Am looking to refer a few people to premium! Want a referal please contact me!

I do want to subscribe, but the price is insane. I am not going to pay $8 a month to have an @neomail.com email which I wouldn't use as I have a MUCH cooler @borovan.com one, the Portal because I already have that as a beta tester, some scratchcards, and no ads (no ads is the only reason I'd want it). $5 a month would be more reasonable, and $2 seems right. But no, that wouldn't appease the great Upper Management Gods.

I pay $20 per year to another site to avoid the ads, and I'd pay that at Neo, but $8 or even $6 a month is too much for all I want- no ads.

Am I the only person that can live with this? From what this looks like that these ads are fatal to your health or something, for I wouldn't pay anywhere near $8 a month for only 1 thing I know I'd use on Neopets.

Getting Portal, at the current time, is what I think one of the last things I'd do regarding Neopets. Why? From what I'm hearing all you get is Ad-Blocking, @neomail.com address(Which I'd rather just go out and get one of those free hotmail services), Free Scratchcards, Toolbar(Personally I'd rather just get that Yahoo one for free and have gotten a Ice Bori out of it :P ), and Weather, but really I would rather just turn onto The Weather Channel on TV. Note this is exluding the things that I deem worthless(Ev en moreso to average Neopets Players) such as Driving Directions, and Stock of the Day. The average User is around anywhere from 8 to 20. Did you notice that only four of those years that Driving Directions would be useful? And I don't think ANY of those years would be investing in stocks. So, I'd pay around $2 for the Ad-Blocker, $1 for the Email, and a optional $1 for the Toolbar, making from $3-$4 per month. Not double that.

Even then, I could get most of those services for free, with only slight differences. I personally wouldn't wanting to be Emailing my friend who recently quit Neopets with a @neomail.com email address. :P

Neopets NEEDS to come up with better ideas. No, better ideas do not include Driving Directions and Stock of the Day. I mean real benifits that can't be gotten for free. My friend has now switched to Runescape :P

Those who...Um...I don't know. Now... I've got nothing else to say.
