firefox is good, but i prefer netscape and IE because they seem to be faster for me, but others say that firefox runs faster than their IE o_O

people mainly want to get it because it has the ability to block to top banner ads, which take up alot of time to load *which may be why its running faster for them :P* but i have a program which does it for me :P

If you see my sanity, get it to give me a call.

Firefox still crashes every so often for me *shrug*...

Mozilla on the other hand is totally disfunctional on my computer now... It doesn't run at all for some reason *shrug*. Either way, Mozilla had problems with Neopets Flash games: it cut off the edges of the game window.

I also use Thunderbird, which is much less stable (even after a few reinstalls); it crashes every other time I use it to send an email... :x

Finally, I don't remember ever downloading an anti ad plugin for Firefox, I've just always had it (and i turn it off for a few sites)

It does for me too, sometimes when pressing the back button to rapidly or when clicking on an item in my inventory to look up the item description. The most annoying thing is that everytime it crashes, my cache gets erased, and my internet connection isn't too fast, so I rely a lot on the cached images to speed up loading pages.

Firefox crashing? Image I've never had that happen to me before, I must be lucky.

But for the record - I'd never go back to IE (not that I can, if I open it, 50 popups open instantly and install adware. >.>) Not to mention the banner blocking thing is nice. ^_^

same thing for me, i will never run IE again. 450 adware programs illegally downloaded onto my computer in one day was it for me :>

me too, i've run norton and it finds the adware that causes the popups and hyperlinks, but it says they "cannot be deleted" ad-aware doesn't help either. so i gave up with the flawed and un-secure IE, and now i'm a full-fledged foxfire convert

i know, i love the tabs and ADORE the adblock feature. i'm not bothered by the annoying ads on this site or neo anymore :D

Image I know. ^_^

And I don't use Norton 'cause it hates me, but between Ad-Aware and AVG, I've gotten rid of everything they can find. And still I get those annoying pop-ups!
Bah, when will Microsoft fix their stupid software?

I use safari:

-Tabbed Browsing
-Built in Google search bar
-Built in Popup Blocker
-Ultra Fast Loading

It's the best I've used so far. Mozilla Firefox is good for the cool extensions you can download though. . . .

Question on firefox. How do you block the top left Neopets logo and NOT block the user, pet and NP info at the same time? Or can't that happen?

It used to happen -- until tonight, my wife & I did exactly that. Now, though, there's an overlay of the top part of the toolbar, that oh-so-coincidentally covers the user info.

If it's a deliberate attempt to keep us from blocking the ads, it won't work. I may have to allow the wasted space again, but I'm not letting those ads back on. I'd block Neopets itself from my computer if it came to that.

Doh! So the ENT tried to mess with firefox!! :x Yeah, guess I'll just have to get used to the wasted space at the top, I too, block the top ad the toorbar ad. It's much easier on the eyes after I did that :)

Oh, that's EVIL.

I'm using a user-defined style sheet that someone posted on another forum to block the ads instead of Adblock. (I found that on my older computer, Adblock doesn't block the top banner instantly... so the pages starts to load with the top banner in place, then the top banner vanishes, making everything on the page jump up unnervingly. The style sheet didn't do this and had the additional advantage that you didn't have to enter non-Neopets ads one at a time into the filter.)

It does the same thing to me, though... no username, and more importantly no NP on hand. (I don't care about the username so much... i know who I am. :-) )

And I was really getting used to being able to see what I was doing playing Neoquest II, too.

 Hopefully someone will get a better handle on what exactly they're doing that causes that and we can undo that effect, too. But I also agree -- I may have to allow for the scrolling and wasted space on top, but I'm not looking at the distracting bouncy animated ads. (They make the pages load too slowly, for one thing.)

It's funny, I object to the banner ads but I didn't object nearly so much until Neopets made a deliberate attempt to keep people from blocking them. :-)

Well, that's not gonna help, once you experience how wonderful it is to have the top ads blocked, no one would want to turn it back on :/ Shame on you TNT, SHAME ON YOU!!
