What it should've read wrote:
There have been severely biased Austrailian media reports released recently that falsely accuse the site of promoting and instructing young people to gamble. We at Neopets know the difference between real and virtual life and have never considered this game to influence anyone's morality or lifestyle choices. If any parents of young users wish for their children to not have access to the "chance" portions of this site, merely monitor your child's activites online, and set limits as to what they're allowed to play - just as good parents do with any other activity.
And what do you think would happen if they put this up on the newspage? The aussie parents/lawyers actually are a threat to neopets. What TNT wants to do now is work things out with them, be nice and make compromises. The very last thing they want to do is to smurf them off with a message like the one above. It would just mean they start an all out war and that would lead to a very angry group of people that would want to shut down Neopets completely. Maybe they don't have that power, but I can understand TNT doesn't want to risk it...
So if they wrote the truth about what happened you're saying that it may anger parents? NEWSFLASH - that already happened - the fact that the media jumped on them makes it all too obvious. No sense in fearing what has already happened - and no harm in telling the truth and clearing your name. The "war" has already started, and TNT wishes to keep it as quiet as possible.
No one is going to take your site away from you - if hordes of disgruntled users telling the truth haven't been able to do it, I doubt a small group of lying parents and unethical reporters will do any better.
